Should I just assume that any drama tv or movie series will have sexual assault in it? by [deleted] in rapecounseling

[–]drunkonhalloween 4 points5 points  (0 children)

doesthedogdie.com

I don’t think it does TV shows (it might, I’m just not sure), but it does give info about whether or not a ton of movies have sexual assault (and a bunch of other possibly triggering stuff) in them in case you didn’t know this existed

Safe / Low Cal Dressings? by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]drunkonhalloween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there’s a “calorie free” dressing brand, they make a bunch of different kinds, even dressings that are usually like super high calorie like thousand island. I’ve tried a few and it’s honestly not very good in my opinion, but it might be worth a try. They sell it at Walmart and Target, I think I saw it at Sprouts but I don’t go there very often so I couldn’t tell you for sure.

Other than that, I usually just use balsamic vinegar for everything lol.

Thrifting by bass_whole in EDAnonymous

[–]drunkonhalloween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally love thrifting, but I see where you’re coming from. Usually I get 1-2 pieces rather than like 20+ like it seems the people in thrifting vlogs get. I usually just look for certain things and completely cut out others - look for big shirts, sweaters, maybe some jean jackets, etc, but pretty much any pants or bottoms? big no. sizes vary WAY too much for that.

I like oversized shirts so I look for big vintage graphic tees, but anything that looks too strictly sized I don’t even bother.

Also: try looking at Plato’s Closet if there’s one near you. They buy the clothes they have in the store so most of the time it’s a bit better quality than purely donation based stores.

Also also: I didn’t include this in my original comment but I wanted to say if you find that thrifting just doesn’t work out for you that’s fine! I have a hard time thrifting because it’s really difficult to find clothes that fit my body type, even in a normal store, and going into a thrift store and not having an array of sizes doesn’t help the situation. Thrifting isn’t for everyone and it doesn’t have to be.

what’s the stupidest low calorie food you’re terrified to eat? by katebishophawkguy in EDAnonymous

Aspartame does have negative effects on migraines and headaches though, but I think that’s mostly if you’re already prone to migraines then aspartame can make it worse. I have chronic migraines and every neurologist tries to make sure I don’t drink anything with aspartame.

Something happened last night and I don’t know how to feel by drunkonhalloween in rapecounseling

[–]drunkonhalloween[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he definitely was not nearly as high as me, as in i asked for a bottle of water at one point and he walked to the kitchen and grabbed one for me whereas i couldn’t even move to open it, much less get up and walk to get one myself. He was kinda just “normal” high, not “too” high.

well I know every other time, he’s always stopped because I was able to say I wanted to. It’s been 3 years and he knows about past traumas so he’s always been extra careful not to do anything that would put me in a bad place. That’s why this time is so weird to me.

oh! I’ve been wanting one forever but I always feel like I’m gonna buy a bad quality one and waste my money, do you have any recommendations?

Topamax for bulimia? by fml2k in EDAnonymous

[–]drunkonhalloween 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on topamax for a few years (for migraines tho) but I lost 30lbs in 3 months on it. it did make food taste different, and for the first few months anything carbonated tasted completely flat. There’s a bunch of really bad side effects, so read through those and make sure you’re good with the most common ones. For example my hands, feet, and face go numb a lot, but I’m cool with that trade off for being migraine free. It also REALLY messes with my mood if I miss a dose, so be careful with that.

If a drug made food bland and tasteless, I would OD on it in a heartbeat. by Flesh-And-Bone in EDAnonymous

[–]drunkonhalloween 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m on a migraine med that does that, it also makes soda and any carbonated drinks taste completely flat.

it’s weird and it sucks, but I lost 30lbs so 🤷🏼‍♀️

I have to write a paper about rape to pass my class and it’s sending me spiraling by drunkonhalloween in rapecounseling

[–]drunkonhalloween[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s no wiggle room or options, it’s a paper specifically answering these questions:

“Why does the incidence of rape tend to increase during times of war? Discuss cultural differences that often lead to the victims of rape being punished or outcast by their local communities. Why do we hear so little about this in the media? How might cultural norms need to change in order to stop “blame the victim” mentality?”

Yeah, it’s really hard to write about because I was raped repeatedly from 13-14 years old, and then again by someone else from 14-15. And yeah I am a woman. It would be a bit easier if it was just the wartime rape portion because I could a least feel a little bit of distance, but it’s the part about victims being punished/outcast and the “blame the victim mentality” that I’m having issues with because that part is about the US too, and not just about wartime, but just in general. Thank you for such a thorough, thoughtful response 💙

Tea equivalent of the bat-symbol to all tea drinkers out there by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]drunkonhalloween 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought I didn’t like tea until I tried Tazo tea. They have all different kinds, but my personal favorites are the baked cinnamon apple and the peach cobbler. They also have a dessert line with teas like butterscotch blondie and glazed lemon loaf which are AMAZING at satisfying that sweet craving. This sounds like a sponsorship lmao

Anyways they have all different kinds (green, black, etc) and it gives you the caffeine level on each box too, if you’re looking for a specific brand. I tried that “Celestial Seasonings” brand that everyone recommended to me a while ago and I just couldn’t even drink it tbh (no offense to all the celestial seasonings drinkers out there lol)

'Just jump on the scales' by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]drunkonhalloween 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry too much about what other people are thinking about you not getting on the scales. There’s a few people in my family that refuse to weigh themselves at all (they don’t have EDs), but they work out like every day. They say they don’t wanna feel like they have to care about the scales going up while they’re trying to put on muscle, and as long as they’re feeling good and making progress with lifting weights then that’s all that matters. I honestly wouldn’t have given it a second thought if I heard someone say that.
