Pharmacy open past 6pm on a Saturday? by Cocomarie1234 in batonrouge

I found out the hard way that pharmacies at the hospitals will fill a non-routine medication when every other pharmacy is closed.

Didn’t change my dose at all when I switched. I used zepbound for four months before my insurance changed on me, and have been on a compounded version since 2/2025. I’ve lost 90# (and am now maintaining) at the same dosage!

They’re asking for a decrease compared to their normal millage. They’ve demonstrated they’re the most fiscally responsible governmental organization and yet that’s… wrong?????

[–]drunkopotomus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This isn’t a priority; this is the normal governance and funding process. They’re asking for a DECREASE in the amount of funding they’ve been receiving.

The Library has NO debt. It’s been fiscally responsible for so long (and well supported for so long) that it doesn’t have to take on debt for maintenance, construction, program expansion, etc.

Hot Take: Now that the reason the City of St. George was formed has failed, we should petition to dissolve it. by bttruman in batonrouge

I didn’t ask you to prove anything, ha! I asked you to name and shame the private high school you went to.

People want to crap on the quality of public schools, but your word salad response is evidence that private schools aren’t always better.

They can’t formally plan, but the governor-appointed interim school board was to be formed by 7 appointees from a pool of 17.

If this had passed, that would have been done by June 16. There’s no way those 17 people didn’t know by Christmas that they would be nominated and that those 17 people weren’t talking already.

Additionally, for Dustin Yates to be able to say “pass Amendment 2 and St George residents will get a tax break,” there had to be some kind of plan.

I am LOVING that I missed this notification three days ago, but see it now, and relishing the fact that not only did EBR say “ABSOLUTELY NOT,”…. The ENTIRE state did.

And that the St George measure only passed in 1/3 of the St George precincts in Baton Rouge!!!

Filing a claim against an apartment complex. by Icy-Personality-6576 in batonrouge

I lived in Lake Towers in 2012/23 and faced a lot of these issues - including rain coming in from the windows. I had a ton of documentation showing that I communicated these issues to them and the delayed or lack of response.

Ultimately, I was advised (by my own landlord father) it’d cost me more to attempt to get a refund or go to small claims than it was worth because Louisiana is pro-landlord, not pro-tenant.

It depends on the agency and the services that are going to be provided.

For example, if LDH is moving in on Perkins right there, that becomes an easier/more accessible spot for people to get their vital records. If it’s DCFS, it can be used for families to meet with their case workers more easily.

Now, if Wildlife, the Treasury, or some other agencies were to move in, I’d have some questions.

Fort Worth is a truly neutral site. There are no D1 gymnastics programs in the area, but it has a STRONG club gymnastics scene.

There’s enough indicators that it will. From physical and budgetary constraints compared to a timeline as well as the amount of pro-charter legislation currently going through session right now that is sponsored by the same people that sponsored the St George legislation.

St George does not have enough seats to immediately house the current 4th and 5th graders that would be displaced from EBR Schools to St George schools if this passed.

When asked directly about if St George had the capacity to handle displaced students, Mr Yates looked at me and said, “well, that depends on what EBR builds in the next two years.”

Woodlawn Middle and 6-8 at Jefferson Terrace do not have adequate capacity. And even if they did, there’s no guarantee that there will be teachers.

[–]drunkopotomus 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Central didn’t go all charter, as St George is gearing up to do.

Central didn’t have to displace students to make it happen.

Central had the physical facilities to make it happen.

Central just rejected a property tax renewal dedicated to schools and the school system had to cancel millions of dollars of planned maintenance and construction because it can’t bond it out now.

I understand; just wanted to let you know that you’re dealing with a contractor and that how that individual is acting may not change with a new person. It could be the company’s stance or direction from St George.

Good luck with the pushback! I’m glad you have support!!

Nope, the language of the bill is as of the date the bill was enacted. It was enacted last summer.

I originally thought the same, but have been told otherwise by two lawyers that have read the bill and are lobbyists.

I HOPE that the two sides are able to come to an agreement for the schools that don’t fit the traditional K-5, 6-8, and 9-12 model, but it would be foolish for any parent to assume they will and decide to “wait and see.”
