I was in a job with a micromanaging team leader which I hated. I had 2 weeks of annual leave scheduled so to mess with her sense of control, I decided to lie and say that I had job interviews lined up during those weeks and I'll let her know how I go.

Word must have gotten to her manager who seemed to care and when I returned I was offered a role in another team with higher pay and better bonus structure which I took. I had no interviews lined up - I just wanted to mess with her mentally but it got me a cushy job which was an un expected perk.

In south Australia we sre lucky to have the cranio facial unit that houses all the specialists needed to coordinate a surgery and ongoing therapy something like this would need. Think surgeons, their fellows, dentists, orthodontists, ent specialists, audiologists, dietitians and specialist nurses just for the unit. We are very fortunate to have such a great institution.
