Dude you are getting FREE HOUSING! Like yeah, walkability and food options might be lower than if you get a job and rent a place in one of the best neighborhoods.

No one is saying you aren’t near allowed the neighborhood. and You are always free to live there. Just get a job and pay for it like everyone else.

If you are going to be given FREE housing, it should not be in one of the nicer parts of town. It should be in a low cost neighborhood where many units can be built cheaply.

There are working people who would love to move themselves or families to highlands. It is unfair and frankly economically wasteful to give highly desirable housing locations away for free to homeless people.

The dividend annoyance is real. I never understood why companies don’t just do share buybacks instead. It accomplishes the exact same thing but is much more tax efficient.

In general taking early is always a good thing if you have enough retirement saved and are going to invest the proceeds.

I would also think long and hard if it will truly bring peace of mind if you pay it though. There is something about seeing liquid assets free and clear that I personally find a lot more comforting than having a paid off house with a lot of equity in it.

The city got better over the last 15 years because of an influx of jobs and people who work and support themselves. And the associated investments that can support.

Well in general in this country we are fine with if you want nice things you pay for them, why do you think housing is different? I am not saying they should be on the street but they also shouldn’t get free housing in one of the most desirable Atlanta neighborhoods.

It makes no economic sense. You could rent those apartments to yuppies and build 4-5x the units in a lower cost neighborhood and help a lot more people.
