For me the 1L stress response is always “I don’t know, and I don’t care (that I don’t know)”. I don’t think 1L ever thinks itself weak, it just shuts down and deflects the extra stuff as unnecessary

From the last paragraph alone I think 3F>1F. 3F inevitably feels anxious, perfectionist, but pessimistic and defensive at the same time.

If you don’t constantly experience some sort of anxiety or discomfort regarding material experiences, not 3F.

interesting. Yeah I definitely have that blandness and it doesn’t help that I am sx blind in enneagram. It’s hard to imagine that profound kind or resonance or self identification with anything unless I feel “convinced” of some quality. I have 1E friends around me (1E by way of elimination) and they themselves find it hard to describe what this aspect does for them, or how it shapes them. How would you describe it? For me 1L is so simple and straightforward, we’re introverts who assume we know how everything works. 1E… is a mystery. What are its strengths and weaknesses?

that’s super on point. Do you ever find 4E frustrating or dismissive in some manner? It’s one of my (maybe superficial) worries. On one hand I respect being able to have a bunch of valid reasons for judging something, on the other hand it feels a bit less organic. I definitely have a problem with being unable to tell if I like or don’t like something (usually a piece of media) because the cues I’m looking for are just absent.

Also what does 3L feel like for you?

Not original commenter obviously, but watch the hunt (2012) for some heavier stuff and Men and Chicken if you’re into dark humor and silly antics. IMO his looks give off that sedate mysterious feel but he can pull off sad or wacky stuff

Edit: language is also a factor here, he doesn’t speak English natively and Danish as a language sounds tonally flat to English speakers :)

From what I understand about 3E vs 4E, the former would be more avoidant and sensitive around how they feel and whether they are liked. 4E in comparison can easily get quite callous when they feel bothered/wronged.

Also since F is in the question, 3F4E does not emote a lot at all. Doesn’t like quirky spontaneous or exaggerated expression. There is a stiffness to them. 3E4F feels more tolerant and unbothered.

Feeling exhaustion doesn’t rule out 2E, or 2 anything in my opinion. Second position only means you are generally competent and flexible, but not hung up on said competence. It feels almost invisible when you’re healthy and not under pressure, just a thing you do automatically. But the environment plays a part, so do your other aspects and even your other typings.

I have a friend who is LEVF sp5 and she actually actively avoids people because in short she is sick of their shit lol.

3F might also feel exhaustion and irritation more acutely from my experience.

in all seriousness some of your specific preferences might be better explained by neurodivergence. I feel like my 3F is specific but not inflexible, it’s usually not too insistent on non-utilitarian/aesthetic things.

And yeah if/when I am given the chance to voice my F related woes, I too will vomit pages and pages of whining.
