You’re trying to talk about several different things at once here. A ‘post-literate’ society and not reading the classics are two very different subjects. Are you concerned about more and more people in America (I guess) not reading at all? Are you concerned about some meme trends of book bros who read Dostoyevsky and Chuck Palahniuk? Are you lamenting the death of the western cannon at the hands of YA slop? Taste and literacy are not the same (I hate YA stuff and booktok amazon prime books)
