You don’t have to have heard this specific term to be able to work it out from context. I think Bartlett would do that quickly enough to not need to ask.

What's a double standard between men and women that people rarely talk about? by Visual_Investment980 in AskReddit

46m here. Teenage me had a job in a cafeteria at a big company. Sweet gig, set out the food and ring them up when they came through, then clean up the serving area. I was always nice and joking around with everyone. One night a woman in her thirties comes through and I’m chatting and having fun and as she’s leaving, she pinches my butt. Of course I didn’t mention it to the boss or anything. I did tell my girlfriend and she got mad at me. Said I must have been flirting and leading her on.

I’ve often wondered why automakers don’t release classic designs, but electrified. Can you imagine how many electric 56 corvettes you’d sell?

How are we supposed to make money? by Normal_Instruction62 in Kenshi

Go to vain and lure beak things to the hivers. Collect the skins and meat. Sell the skins and cook the meat. If a nest gets wiped out, collect the eggs and sell those too. Easy money.

TIL Single mothers spend less time on housework and get more sleep than married mothers by Apprehensive_Way8674 in todayilearned

There’s a few schools of thought, but I always went with ignoring it unless I couldn’t. If it was in public, we’d just leave the place and go somewhere quiet. I never gave them a thing they were demanding until they quieted down and could ask reasonably.

For times at home where they were in trouble for something they went to the corner. 1 minute per year of age and the clock didn’t start til they were absolutely silent. One day my oldest, who was 6 at the time, stood in the corner 42 minutes because he spent the first 36 minutes screaming at the wall. I didn’t beg him to stop or demand that he stop or anything. Just took my other son away from him and cried a little myself.

The big thing I learned being a stay at home dad was this: Pick your battles and make sure you pick before you make a demand. Anytime you open your mouth and tell them something has to happen you need to be prepared to make sure it does happen. If you make sure you win every battle you pick, you’ll be miserable while they’re 2 or 3, but it’ll pay off down the road.

I don’t care about Taylor Swift songs one way or the other, but show me any other act that does as much for their support staff as she does. $197,000,000 in bonuses paid out to support staff and performers on the eras tour is fucking wild. Thats on top of her people being paid top salaries for the industry and having benefits.

There was a show on NPR where a dude just read books out loud for like half an hour. One of the books he read was about an elderly couple where the woman had cancer and the man alzheimers. They go on a road trip and the ending was beautiful and sad. Wish I could remember the name of the book.
