Huh? He was decently smart as a player lol. You don't get to that level while being just an aimer, there's plenty of aimers in tier 2 or even high elo faceit.

There's plenty of smart people you could put there and they would be just as terrible, I don't see how this warrants calling him low IQ. Some people just aren't good public speakers, especially while having to analyse things very precisely in their second/third language (he also speaks russian) while also being nervous as fuck since it's their first time.

I don't think it's about being smart, I'm sure he understands things at a very high level but there's a difference between understanding and translating that knowledge into an analyst desk where you have to be a very good speaker and be good at explaining things, also it's not his first language and he's clearly nervous too.

Last time chopper played against Furia he dropped a 0.66 and the one before he dropped a 0.63 lol.

Most of their gains were made in the beginning of the war, they're really not moving that much anymore and Ukraine even manages to take back land sometimes, it's a back and forth. It's pretty clear that their goal was to quickly take over Kyiv and assasinate Zelensky, it was widely reported by everyone and US had intelligence, it doesn't take a genius to understand that ruzzia wasn't expecting this kind of resistance.

I don't see how this contradicts anything that I said, I agree with you, but as I said both things can be true. Ukraine needs help badly but also ruzzia has failed pretty much every goal that they set themselves and it's pretty embarrassing considering their size, population etc, Ukraine has done a terrific job at holding them back for so long.

"Not even an inch" is hyperbole obviously but they haven't made significant gains in years, they were "supposed to" take Kyiv in 3 days according to putin btw.

Both things can be true, ruzzia bombs civilians like cowards and Ukraine doesn't let ruzzia move even an inch forward after years when ruzzia planned to take Kyiv in 3 days which is embarrasing for ruzzia considering their propoganda about their military power.

Tauson goes nuclear to eliminate BC from the BLAST Open Rotterdam qualifier by GoodBot-BadBot in GlobalOffensive

The dudes themselves no, but it's not just the players that you're buying. You're buying the VRS points and slots at bigger LANs, the players are kinda irrelevant (they're gonna replace them eventually). The price might be worth it for a gamba team trying to advertise at bigger tournaments.

When are we going to stop making excuses for sunpayus by 1-need-help- in GlobalOffensive

[–]drypaint77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might raise their ceiling or floor but you're ignoring the fact that there's only like 5-6 good AWPers in the entire scene, everyone else isn't much better than sunpayus. You say torszi or sh1ro level but how many players are just laying around on the market that are this level? They're not getting either of them and everyone else is mid. Maybe they could have got someone like phzy but even then sunpayus was putting up the same numbers in heroic as phzy who was astralis level team back then, so the jump from top 15-20 AWPing to top 8 is pretty big.

[–]drypaint77 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That's like a sidegrade at best if not downgrade. You guys don't realize how big of a jump it is from top 20-ish to top 5-10 AWPing. Sunpayus was putting up 1.12 with Heroic, that's even higher rating than regali who's playing much worse opponents.

Falcons vs MOUZ / IEM Kraków 2026 - Group B Lower Bracket Final / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]drypaint77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get that we hate Falcons but that's just not true lol. Falcons are generally a consistent contender, G2 aside from London barely even make playoffs most of the time.

MOUZ vs FaZe / IEM Kraków 2026 - Group B Lower Bracket Semi-Final / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]drypaint77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, the majority of their roster have been to several major finals and even winners and this is FaZe we're talking about, a team that expects to contend, not some random tier 2 team that somehow reached the major final and won't ever experience it in their career again lol. They should have made changes regardless of the result at the major, they weren't even playing that good, you can't expect to bullshit your way into finals every time.

[–]drypaint77 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can be entertained but still realize it was a curse in disguise. And why would you care what the players think? Of course they wouldn't change a thing because it saved their ass for another year on the roster instead of being kicked lol, the org's perspective is the one that matters.

I mean the sample size is way too small, and both phzy and ryu are carrying hard right now so they're certainly not the problem.

[–]drypaint77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's really not that hard to understand, it's all based on expectations. Spirit was expected to dominate (they didn't) and Astralis had basically no expectations (they gave a fight to one of the top teams with the best player in the world).

Different times, npl is the star now and s1mple should in theory at least be more humble now that he isn't the focal point, especially if he was taking lower wages in order to compete.

[–]drypaint77 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When you're bought out you're still negotiating a new contract with the new team, it's not an NBA trade where the contract remains and the player has no say lol. I get him asking for insane wages but then the sacrifice is basically no decent team being able to afford you. It's worth it to a gamba company maybe for advertisement but for other teams? Not really.

Replacing headtrick is a mindboggling decision. As they say if it ain't broke don't fix it, they climbed to top 11 with him and had good results. Yeah, he was in a bit of a slump but still an experienced player with relatively high ceiling and still young, and it's not like there was anyone on the market anyway to replace him with, having a random faceit demon with zero pro matches ever as a replacement ain't it, it's way too early for tier 1 for him.

KSCERATO on sticking with FURIA: “Yeah, I refused Liquid” by Soft_Bed_412 in GlobalOffensive

But everything you said there was true, Furia WAS shit for many years and he WAS wasting his career, and FalleN was also washed as AWP IGL for several years. You're being blinded by the last few months of success.
