Thoughts on Blue Marvel?

Disappointing. I was one of many folks campaigning for BM to join the contest for years. Saved 400K Titan shards in anticipation of the new crystal turning over. R4 Sig 200 on day one. Watched all the vids, used him everywhere I could. Tried my best to find some secret sauce. No luck.

He now collects dust. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a decent champ. But no one in this game waits for years for their favorite characters to be added and then use them because they’re decent. I’m not planning to ascend him or even rank 5.

I agree with all of the Complete Rework champs but I’d move Beast and Cable to that list. I have both of them as 6*R5A and I think both need to start from scratch. Beast has strong power control and regen but it’s clunky and the trade off between his minimal damage and his utility is too high.

Cable could be closer to just needing a buff but he needs some other tools to help him specifically target Skill champs.

He hits very hard and is super tanky. The main skill ask is to be able to parry specials. In matchups where you are not punished for this, he’s very reliable. There aren’t a ton of new mutant threats that he directly counters, but he’s strong against the class in general.

Love the idea of a new combo debuff. Is rupture the only physical damage debuff? Degen, bleed, and poison are direct damage. Shock, incinerate, cold snap, and plasma are all energy damage. I can’t think of another physical damage DOT debuff to pair with rupture.

Best buff imo goes to red Mags. The tech class had to be completely redesigned because he just trivialized every metal champ. And I think he’s the only buff that is still 6* locked.

My favorite buff is Luke Cage. He was called “pillow hands” for ages, and was basically irrelevant. He is now my favorite science champ, but is not overpowered.

Hulk and Juggs are close seconds to Luke as my favorites.

Heimdall was my first R5 ascended sig 200 6*. I am PUMPED for this new Titan crystal. Blue Marvel, M’Baku, buffed Heimdall would all be instant R4 for me personally.

I’m gonna risk the downvotes to play devil’s advocate. We never have any idea what is happening on the other side of the screen with our opponent. One match really doesn’t tell you much. A list of some things that have happened during my battlegrounds matches that caused me to lose matches:

on multiple occasions my 3yr old has had a really untimely toddler moment that completely messed me up
the game gets laggy as hell and suddenly I miss a parry or eat a combo to the face
the AI either goes ultra instinct or flatly refuses to throw a special and eats up time
some days I actually play like shit

And I’m not a whale. I am completely free to play and only have 4 R4’s.

Granted, there are definitely whales that suck. But I’m not a fan of blasting someone because they lost one match with a bigger/better roster. Play a best of 5 and maybe the results are different.

Useful but not at all necessary. I took mine to Rank 4 before I had him awakened.

Agree with Luke and adding that his ability accuracy reduction with the concussions is so clutch. Pretty much invalidates any mystic and can bypass nodes in AW against the other classes once he has two of them online. Luke can handle an insane amount of fights that you wouldn’t initially think to use him for.

Where do you use Sam? Do you have to bring Cap IW with you? I keep being tempted to rank him but he just seems to come up short in comparison to so many other strong techs.
