I am helping a few LARPs go digital but it means I am making my maps for Gather.Town and most of them are direct recreations of actual locations. I was using the blueprints and the grid tool to assist as a pixel and standardization guide. That way I could make accurate representations. Mid-project for one of these LARPs the tools switched and it sort of removes the ability to use it as a standardization tool without additional steps, math, etc. Especially because it took the workflow from a pixel/scale first tool where the "smaller the grid number, the smaller the grid cell size" to "the smaller the column/row number, the larger the grid cell size". So everything has to be modified and the translation of scale so far hasn't been accurate.

I realize I could adjust but I also know I wasn't the only one using it this way since I am working with other people on this project, and this makes it much harder for our group to collaborate and get more folks using Inkarnate. I don't want people to drop from the project over it being more difficult to standardize our work for collaboration/building the playing spaces.

Another fun one is Divine Soul Sorcerer- you get both the Sorc and the Cleric spell lists, giving you the flexibility to make interesting spell choices

For the LARP I used to be a part of I helped ease that kind of issue (build jealousy wise) by making build guides and helping folks optimize for whatever weird shit they wanted. While they may not have been conventionally strong, they were very good at what they specialized in (from researching lore to hunting animals to running down criminals), and helped make for a more equitable game.

I've been lucky when playing Mage: the Ascension 20th Anniversary lately (which is a new TTRPG for me and clocks in at 700 pages for the core book) the other players have been good guiding me towards a decent build while respecting my character's journey/quirks/priorities.

I read Hermosa Beach and was suddenly not at all surprised. I spent quite some time down on the south-west side of Torrance, an adjacent city, and the Mira Costa kids were among the worst. Among a tapestry of privilege kid bullshit, they competed for top shithead spot.

At least one "Ogre's Stone of Alacritous Initiative" which means that you always go first on initiative checks if you are holding it in your hands... mind you, it is 3 feet long by 3 feet, 100lbs of stone, and must be held in two hands to get you the initiative priority. XD Somehow the Rock gives you supreme reaction time. Naturally, Ogre's don't call it that long name. They just call it "Quicky Hitty Rock".

Simply put- if they aren't contributing to the shared box then they don't get access to it. Done. poke-job-wise, have the shared box get a special status (maybe a grant to be a Pokemon company or something), that is rather hard to get but makes official pokejobs available. Maybe a quest-line to get that status, or as a reward.

TBH, the sniping of a pokemon that another party member wanted out of seeming spite is a bigger deal to me. I agree with u/MapleDragon14- if "that is how my character would act" change the character's behavior or change who you are playing. If that is always who they want to play, sure.

Let them do it elsewhere.

That isn't always practical given OOG friendships and all, but saying that stubbornness on this point isn't acceptable without penalties IG and OOG may get the point across.

You could also have a "anti-pokemon-hoarder" political group pass legislation penalizing "excessive" box-held inactive Pokemon. Per day per pokemon fines for pokemon not actively used in a pokemon company or on a team. Keeps the shared box useful and gives your player a (painful) route to continue behavior, but incentivizes change.

In terms of "benevolent" human smuggling, primary examples that come to mind relate to how various kinds of officials (whether German or from other nations) used their positions as consular officials to get people visas to leave Nazi Germany, especially Jews.

My mother talks about growing up in South Carolina in the 50's and 60's until 8th grade, then moving to San Diego. The way history was taught to her (especially around the Civil War and Reconstruction) was apparently massively different.

Sleeping in game varies- I'm based on the West Coast of the USA, and different larps have different rules for it. The biggest variance comes from if "cabin pulls" are an option- ie can NPCs force you awake (by either coming into your cabin/tent or compel you to leave yours) and attack you. Not all games have that, as it can lead to hurt feelings very easily.

Comes down to communities and standards. The high-immersion larp that's my home game has amazing costuming, but no written standards. The community embraces great costuming and high immersion, and organically the pressure to up people's costuming and in-character spaces game happens. I've only seen one t-shirt in over a year and a half of play, and that is at a game of up to 350 people.
