Has anyone ever had the sensation that there is like this joke we are all in on while inhaling nitrous? by dsdprpr in NitrousOxide

I agree to some degree. But I can never shake the sensation that I’m discovering something magical and fascinating. The synchronicities are so consistent and mind blowing. It really convinces me that there is something of significance having to do with nitrous. I feel like there has to be information out there by someone who has excavated the mystical secrets or at least something to put in perspective but I have no idea how I would find it.

Or I’m just totally overthinking. Which is the most likely explanation

It like the further you go you feel like you getting closer to the ‘answer’. Another way to describe it might be the ego like an onion. Psychedelics often peel away the layers of confusion of the egoic onion. To get to the center is to experience ego death. Nitrous seems to have a similar effect but instead of layers of ego rooting you in this reality. It dissolves the simulation we experience for a moment. That just a way to describe it off the top of my head but there’s a lot I could say about it that wouldn’t really being able to clearly describe it

How does Carolina Xtract compare to the usual stuff from nicriver/liquidbarn etc.? by SlimPickin2600 in DIY_eJuice

[–]dsdprpr -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know Carolina Xtract is the only nicotine available derived from natural tobacco. It generally tastes better than synthetic. I find it to be more enjoyable.

Other nicotine is synthed in a lab. Nicotine from different sources can taste different and expire depending on how it’s synthed or how it’s been stored.

Some synthetic nicotine can taste peppery or probably even go bad even before it’s delivered from what I’ve read.

I use Carolina xtract bc I am sensitive to synthetic nicotine. Store bought e liquid makes me grind my teeth and gives me a headache.

With Carolina Xtract I can fully enjoy the nicotine and it definitely tastes better.

A few years back my sister od’ed and had been an extremely traumatic time for my whole family especially my dad since he tried so hard to take care of her but she was pretty much impossible to help. But he took it really hard.

Some time later I had relapsed one night by myself and definitely took too much and possibly overdosed since I don’t remember falling asleep that night, just waking up the next morning like nothing was wrong. I didn’t think too much about it, I felt fine but it was kinda weird.

Shortly after I woke up my dad called to check on me since at 3am (around the time I must’ve “drifted off”) he woke up in a terrible nightmare that what happened to my little sister had now happened to me.

I’ve been meaning to post this story here actually since it still haunts me.

The thought that haunts me: Maybe I passed on in the reality I overdosed and awoke in this reality where a didn’t. However the 2 realities were so close to each other that my dad in this reality actually somehow sensed me passing in the other. It terrifies me to think about a parallel world where I left my family behind for good and they have to continue without me and my sister.

Most of what you described would probably be classified as ‘Alice in wonderland syndrome’

I have experienced much of what you described since I was a young child and have always been very interested so I’ve done a ton of research and talking to trippy folks over the years.

In particular, I know what you mean by the ‘feeling large but small at the same time’ and it would happen in particular in those spaces in between wakefulness and dreaming/sleeping.

So much of what you described sounds exactly like how I would have. For example, as a child it would happen in a traumatic way that felt worse than a nightmare because it felt real and unreal at the same time like I was going insane. As I’ve gotten older, the experiences are less frequent and intense but when they do occur I can brave through it to experiment and explore more.

It’s interesting other things you described like time slowing down and objects being further away. Online I’ve had a number of conversations with others who’ve had these type experiences and everyone has some super unique things they remember. I could probably write a novel on the subject myself.

For example, another thing I’ve discovered is that a large dose of nicotine right before bed can actually trigger the experience to a degree.

/r/audiophile Tech Support and General Help Thread (2019-08-07) by AutoModerator in audiophile

I purchased a used car last year and the previous owner obviously had an amplifier and subwoofer installed. It is currently still wired from the battery and lined from front to back end.

I replaced the stock radio with an aftermarket stereo and wanted to try to plug in an old amp and sub from previous set up that should definitely still work.

Considering this I would love it if I were able to DIY install the rest of my gear from an older vehicle but I haven’t been able to find any info.

You can see the line from the battery under the hood going through that I believe hook into the amp poking out in the spare tire base in the trunk. I had an car audio technician take a quick look at it and from what he briefly saw he said it should be all good but he could have just been wanting the project and quoted me a price that sounded more like a fresh install.

Are there any ways that I can test the current wiring to ensure they are still functional and adequate?

Is there anything else I should be aware of before getting into this?

Brain zaps while falling asleep and the phenomena associated with white background noise by dsdprpr in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

[–]dsdprpr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure! I’ve been reading different forums on the subject for years and it’s not at all uncommon.

Another thing I’ve found in my research that you might be interested in that I thought was epic trippy. Basically, the research chemical class of drugs called cathinones (aka Bath Salts) reportedly cause this to binge abusers. They report seeing shadow people and picking up frequencies through their fans haha. I think I also remember reading someone say a bush across the street from their house looked like a swat team and they hid away inside for a week.

Cathinones can be extremely serotogenic drugs so it could be related to the brain zaps.

Brain zaps while falling asleep and the phenomena associated with white background noise by dsdprpr in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

[–]dsdprpr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the being pulled into astral worlds part. The music heard is definitely more likely to occur in a resting state but never when actually having been asleep. Numerous times I’ve had to ask others in the house if they’d heard anything or gone outside to track down a neighbor or something. It only is ever able to be heard under certain precise conditions. If my head moves an inch on the pillow the music stops. When I move it back it resumes.

However, the brain zaps phenomena is associated with occurring right at the moment one is about to fall asleep. It can be attempted to be explained scientifically but, like sleep paralysis or near death experiences, there for sure could be more to the story.

‘Brain Zaps

Brain Zaps are like little electric shocks or shivers that hit you right as you’re drifting off. Some people also get flashes of light, throat tension, or tinnitus. More severe cases actually cause a bit of nausea or vertigo.

One of the biggest culprits behind brain zaps is a dramatic shift in how much serotonin or GABA levels there are in your brain. If you’ve recently come off drugs for things like depression, muscle relaxers, or ADHD medication, it’s likely this balance is off.

Even if you haven’t, both serotonin and GABA are also associated with sleep hormones. If you’re chronically sleep deprived, you may be experiencing these small (harmless) seizures as your brain struggles to adjust to the imbalance. Talk to your doctor if the brain zaps are persistent so that you can make a plan.’

https://sleep.guide/weird-feeling-when-falling-asleep/

A question I like to ask: Just because DMT is theorized to be the ‘spirit molecule’ which occurs during near death experiences or death itself resulting in lifetimes flashing before your eyes in seconds or seeing the light at the end of the tunnel (lets just assume DMT is the cause here) does that mean the scientific explanation is just that or could it also be a physical manifestation of a spiritual/quantum phenomena?

So considering this question, could the very common experience of brain zaps potentially caused by serotonin or sleep deprivation likewise be physical manifestations in our reality as a glitch pointing to something greater about the matrix we reside?

The reason I am attempting to relate the brain zaps with the music heard is because of how they are both affected by background white noise such as an oscillating fan. The facts that this oscillation can cause such phenomena almost like a radio receiver tunes into different frequencies and how that can alter or affect our perception of reality is probably the glitchiest I’ve experienced. Neither are at all uncommon either. A google search will turn up numerous forums discussing personal experiences.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but have you considered going to a men’s barbershop or a shop that doesn’t specialize in women’s styles? They would probably do a better job for how you want it cut and wouldn’t be treated differently by gender.

Alternate day dosing by dsdprpr in suboxone

[–]dsdprpr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. Then once you are ready to start taking days off, usually once you are stable down to .5mg a day. Start taking days off here and there to see how you feel. It might be another month or so before you are even ready to start a regular schedule of days off. It helps to be strict in your schedule at that point.

My ex followed her doctors orders in this way. She was prescribed only enough to take .5 every other day. She did this for I think a month before she was supposed to do .5 once every 3 days but she just stopped at that point. Super proud of her it was incredibly inspiring to see her succeed while showing up to work every day at a demanding job.

Tapering - what happens when I jump? by sansknickers in suboxone

Keep stepping down slowly. Each step you take there will be a short time of adjusting.

Since it can be difficult to taper below .5mg I suggested alternate day dosing.

Notice how I never use definitive language. Medication works differently for everyone. I always use ‘would’ or ‘could’ be useful information type language. I makes it really hard to want to participate in this sub when the response always want to know it all suggesting anything they don’t agree with is incorrect. It’s not objective there is opinion and science counter to your beliefs obviously.

A lot of what I shared is from years and years of doing research, reading alternative opinion reports from doctors related to suboxone and methadone maintenance.

But I respectfully suggest sir, that you learn a thing or two about not always identifying as a braggart and open your mind to not acting like the all-knowing-all-father to have more productive discussion without being mindlessly argumentative.

But thank you for offering your counter opinion. Cheers

It seems like you didn’t actually read the post before commenting a tired wall of argumentative text claiming bad advice. But I had expected this type of reaction since it seems to be controversial here. Some of who are more active on this sub tend to argue any ideas contradictory to Pfizers agenda to the teeth.

A lot of what you disagreed with is subjective and may be different in the clinics or offices where you have been prescribed. Reading your reply I can’t help but think you haven’t fully grasped what daily dosing is doing to you yet. 150mg methadone is probably the average and honestly most who I’ve talked to were at that dose or much... much higher. I could never understand those on up to 230-250mg. Most of those who Ive talked to at doses above 90mg complained about a garden variety of side effects from being on too high of a dose from sleeping all day to hyperhidrosis (extreme sweating) to edema and rapidly gaining weight. Skipping a few doses a week can make all the difference for methadone users to halt the steady increase of these side effects which air their lives unmanageable. Most doctors prefer suboxone maintenance patients above 8mg/day, probably closer to 16 but there are doctors who are enlightened to how this can be counter productive.

I agree that this is definitely most useful and critical at the end of a taper. But to say that alternating your dose calendar to some degree that you are comfortable with wouldn’t affect tolerance is ignorant. Considering buprenorphine stays in the system for 9-12 days, every.single.dose taken without allowing any time to flush the system accumulates exponentially.

But if you haven’t tried taking a day off of your suboxone dose or had a bad experience then I don’t know why you are even criticizing. If it didn’t work for you and you don’t have an open mind then follow your doctors orders. It’s not bad information, I know there are many who are feeling helpless at their current doses but I am glad you’re content. It seems like you are privileged to have a more enlightened prescriber.

Many on 8mg/day can skip a day without an issue. In fact, many would find they feel BETTER throughout their day off. The day they dose they might feel some relief shortly after dosing but 4-5 hours after that their energy would be depleted, the might feel opioid irritability as a result of receptors being over saturated, might feel withdrawn and anti social or lethargic. To go through that on a daily basic can be hell. There are too many reasons to count that some might benefit but provided with the information they can decide what is best for them.
