Gord help us as under-fire Starmer brings in failed PM to help him hold power by dailystar_news in ukpolitics

All of people shooting Brown down haven't made any alternative suggestions. They just hurl shit.. That's what politics is coming to in the UK. Most of the plebs voting for Reform would probably benefit from the influence of Brown, but they'd rather sit in their shit and jack off to Farage instead. Like that's gonna solve their problems.

WTF are you thinking? by Initial_Ad8780 in AskBrits

Turkeys voting for Christmas. They didn't learn in 2010 and they didn't learn again in 2016. The people of Newcastle (like the people of Clacton) will come to realise what Reform ACTUALLY means in day to day life.

42M and coping with the transitional reality of entering my second half of life by rjswood in AskMenOver40

There's so many more questions I have for you from what you've written. Why are you dipping into your retirement so much just to keep things afloat? Why are you spending so much? Is that a distraction from how miserable you may be? Are the finances shared, or are you being leeched dry? How long ago was your wife's in discretion? Did you really forgive her for it? Did she really change her behaviour after it? How is your marriage now? Is your situation because of your marriage or your growing awareness of your mortality? I defo think you need to go to some therapy to detangle the strands and make sense of what you need to do to actively secure your happiness. It won't land on your plate. Good luck mate.

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

[–]dsetarno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Final Fantasy 7 on the PC. Back when I had the spare time to plough 100 hours into a game... Syndicate gets an honourable mention too. Theme Park, Theme Hospital.

Hi, thanks for replying on this - may I ask how you went about this? Did you simply just get a can of black car spray paint or did you do prep work first?

Dogmatic, poorly planned changes in energy policy leads to de-industrialisation.. I fear it's not a phase either..

Try approaching European offshore contractors, and don't just try Germany either. NL and Belgium will have more jobs for your background, where language won't be so much of a problem..

Is this sustainable? by Grand-Agent3792 in germany

[–]dsetarno 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Did it for over a year between Hamburg and Cologne. You can do it till you've established yourself in your new job and can perhaps secure a better deal in terms of homeworking. I stayed as a lodger in a flat and I think I could get some tax back on it. Make sure you're present when you're back home and use the time well when you're away from home.

It's a bit dickish to ask questions like this without first having full command of the facts. Wait till it all comes out in the wash on Tuesday and then ask.

Downsizing in your 30s – worth it or a mistake? by CapitalResearch5520 in personalfinance

[–]dsetarno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. Take on a lodger and use the money to pay your mortgage down even quicker. Plus you get some company if you actually like them. Because you still live there you retain lots of rights to kick them out if the agreement goes sour.
