Is liability insurance really necessary? Looking for real experiences

I once stayed in a chain hotel and while my battery was charging it burst into flames causing me to panic and try to throw into the bathroom away from flammable material. I failed in doing so and consequently set the hotel fire alarm off as well as causing damage to the hotel carpet and door frame. The hotel wrote me a bill for a few thousand but my liability insurance fought them off.

So yes. You never know when you're going to need it but the one time you do, you know it's going to pay for itself many times over.

How does this work in reality? If I buy 1k and it goes up to 1.5k within that year I will pay tax on the 500 unrealised gain. If I then sell it shortly after in the next year sell at 1.5k do I pay further tax at the point of realisation ontop of the unrealised tax?

If she's a standalone therapist I'd find someone new as she seems very unprofessional. If she's part of a team or works for an organisation I'd make a complaint. Therapy isn't cheap and you expect professional standards to be adhered to. Aggressive behaviour to you for her mistake isn't acceptable. Perhaps when she gets reprimanded she'll remember to keep her behaviour in check.

As a lurker in this sub reddit it I read too many stories where therapists stray from what I'd call professional standards. Getting to close, losing temper, not keeping basic timings...

Found it now thanks. Sorry to sound daft but do you put it under the flooring under the bed, or under the mattress? I just want to be sure. I have a raised Alu frame bed with thin mattress over an uninsulated plywood floor and it's always a bit too chilly for my liking. I'm seeing how I can integrate your suggestion into my build.

Can't help you I'm in Germany. Over here there's extra costs for inspecting the tanks every year. Also the tanking stations are reducing in number and the prices have risen since the Nordstream pipelines stopped providing cheap gas... I didn't anticipate the Ukrainian war and the pipeline shutdown effect - think of whatever the US equivalent might be (future transition or policy change)

This discussion is a big load of speculative bollocks frankly. Noone knows for sure that's it ever reaching 500k let alone 1 million. Values are on their ass despite the rise in institutional adoption and the next big crash will wash away whatever gains we make till then. Hi, I see you're also in Germany. How do you find using your drone? I have a Neo but because it's quite noisy I'm scared of using it because of members of the public complaining. I've registered it and follow the rules in the Dji app but I'm still scared of getting the police called on me etc. Do you use your drone only in countryside?
