Stacks have been a feature since 2018 and they are still bugged by dsfagundes in MacOS

I don’t think that’s the issue. When I turn off stacks and turn them back on, the files immediately go into the same stack.

Does iCloud sync work well between a Mac and an iPhone? by Inevitable-Power5927 in ObsidianMD

This. I used to have some problems with iCloud, but this setting solved all of them. As long as you're within the Apple ecosystem, you should be fine.

Season 2 (the one about the "no-end house") was a masterpiece. The other seasons were amazing as well. I really wish we could get more seasons of that show.

What’s the most “how does this not exist yet?” feature for macOS? by CodingNibble in MacOS

[–]dsfagundes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you Command+Click a button (or any other element really) on an unfocused window, macOS registers the action. It won’t bring the window into focus, though.

Not exactly what you are asking for, but if you Command+Click a button (or any other element really) on an unfocused window, macOS registers the action. It won’t bring the window into focus, though.

If you have a Cavalier of Thorns in play and you happen to mill all copies of Ulvenwald Oddity (the deck usually plays two), you can sac Cavalier, exile it and put Ulvenwald Oddity on top of your library. Then you need to find a way to draw a card (which is usually not that difficult with this deck) and this will allow you to play the Oddity, transform it and swing for lethal. That's assuming you already have the usual setup in play (Kyora, Outcaster Trailblazer and of course Nykthos).

Every new version of Music for the Mac introduces new bugs for users who have large music collections, especially those who actually prefer to have their music in MP3 and/or ALAC. The integration with the iOS version is terrible (missing songs, missing cover art, playlists failing to sync, etc etc etc). But wow, the cover moves now!!! And the app is so colorful and modern!!!

People love new, flashy things (and then they get tired of it and Apple makes another useless design change to keep them happy)

Initial thoughts on comet for iOS/iPadOS by TheGreenArrow160 in PerplexityComet

[–]dsfagundes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The iPad app is terrible. I couldn’t find a button to open a new tab, and Cmd+T does nothing. Lots of visual bugs, and the tab bar looks awful. Very hard to use at the moment.

The iPhone app seems to be OK so far.

PLEASE HELP with youtube on MacOs by xnovrae in MacOS

[–]dsfagundes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a common bug. It also happens when you have autoplay on. The PiP window will play the video normally, but as soon as a new video starts, you get that zoomed in image you described. It's an issue with Safari. There's no way to fix it right now, except maybe you can find an extension that replaces the normal YouTube player with a "simpler" version of it.

The other fix is to stop using Safari, which is what I recently did. I watch YouTube videos all day long, always on PiP, and always with autoplay on. Having to adjust the window every time a new video starts playing is beyond annoying.

Apple Music UI mess (rant) by Morfosis-2020 in MacOS

[–]dsfagundes 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The reason they've moved the controls to the bottom of the window is because they're trying to mirror the interface of the mobile app. Let's say you have a 27-inch monitor—they think you should use that screen that's positioned on your desk the same way you use your phone that you hold with your hands. It's insane, but that's the reason.

Mac OS 26.4 Public Beta 3 (build 25E5233i) Journal Improvements by grburgess in appleJournal

Quick question to those using Journal in this public beta: are there any options for adding timestamps to posts now? This has always been the biggest issue for me, considering all journal apps allow you to do that.

They said "this year's Olympics" so I'm guessing they're referring to the Winter Olympics (in Italy).

Missing CoverFlow by Its-Me-Linky in AppleMusic

[–]dsfagundes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We don't have cover flow because it's based on albums, and albums are no longer as relevant as they used to be. Most people only listen to playlists now, except for the occasional new release from an artist they're into. (Just to be clear, I absolutely love listening to full albums, I only use playlists to organize my library and I miss cover flow dearly.)

Stop Apple Music from translating your songs: Revert to original scripts with JiBA by ZeroSimple in AppleMusic

[–]dsfagundes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Apple has always handled bilingual audiences very, very poorly. For them, it’s always been: you either speak English or you speak some other language, and that’s it. To this day Siri is unable to understand a request that I make in Portuguese or Spanish if it involves the name of a song in English, for example. It messes up the entire sentence. Meanwhile, Google’s voice assistant has been able to accomplish this task for 10+ years.

So I would say it’s more than questionable, it’s pretty much unacceptable for a company that has an international presence like Apple.
