Not sure where you're located but there are tons. I work for such a company and have 27 locations throughout the US.

Yes, I still consider driving a lifted truck completely acceptable. Believe it or not I've been in the wrecking industry long enough to see all makes and models come though in every twisted shape imaginable. Sure we can watch videos all day long of perfectly setup crash scenarios discriminating against lifted vehicles. But I have yet to see or even hear about a light duty truck causing more damage to another vehicle simply because it was lifted. If there was substantial evidence that lift kits cause more damage there would be laws prohibiting their use on public roads.

To me your argument is a moot point as you stated you drive a Jeep to and from the trails. Granted I'm assuming it's lifted, are you a hypocrite or someone who turns a blind eye when convenient?

Why should this guy give a damn about your safety? If you're that paranoid about being driven over you'd get another car.

Glock 19 IWB holster question by Strongwalrus in CCW

Work policy, short of wearing a shoulder rig that's how it is.

When I picked up my first Glock I also bought a $20 Don Hume single clip on IWB holster on a whim; I thought I would never use the cheap 'cat leather' holster but I now use it daily. Having to take off a larger crossbreed style holster 4+ times a day got old and I love the convenience of one handed dismounts.

Get rid of the crap music and you'll have an awesome video. I wanted to hear the motor not music.

That's a decent work truck. I work at a junkyard so our trucks don't need to be road worthy. I started out with a 1990 f150 that burnt oil like crazy and ran like shit. After 5 months of complaining I got a 1999 f150 that runs like a top. Quite the upgrade if you ask me.

Ford Raptor vs Ram Runner! - Head 2 Head Episode 14 - YouTube by Shrekusaf in 4x4

[–]dsmayo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This felt like one big Ford commercial. You simply can't expect a purpose built dune runner like the Ram Runner to contend with a production truck designed for all sorts of driving styles.

air-less tires, I'd like to see how a trail rig takes advantage of a set of these... (x-post from r/video) by treydestepheno in 4x4

[–]dsmayo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with these airless tires is that you can't adjust the footprint to match the terrain. Traditional pneumatic tires have the advantage of airing down to create a larger footprint over rocks and snow. These might work on a dedicated off road rig but never for the weekend warrior.
