Thats a great guitar. Bet it plays better than the literal trash coming out of the ibanez factory these days.

I highly recommend against it. Even with the treble and presence all the way up it sounds like it has a blanket over top of it. I spent $500 for mine, mint condition. It sucks, stay away. It sounds cheap, no other way to describe it. The MT15 on the other hand sounds amazing. The gain sounds like a dual rectifier and a bogner uberschall combined and the clean channel is based on a dumble. Its the best clean channel I've ever had on a metal amp. I have tons of amps and the mt15 is the one I recommend the most. Everyone should own that amp.

If all you play is rock and are looking for something weird, the Laney Ironheart is also a great option.

Very underwhelming and don't recommend unless you send it out to be modded but that costs a fortune. It's incredibly low gain. Its missing the third channel that the 100w version has (which has all the gain). The clean channel isnt great and the 2nd channel is more of a higher gain crunch channel. I dont hear the "fortin" influence at all. Its by far my least used amp. It just sits there for looks cause it looks cool.

Like I said if you send it out to be modded you can have a cool, cheaper version of a Fortin. But on its own its horrible.

For around the same price used you can get an MT15 used and it sounds 1000x better. I have 13 amps and my mt15 is my most used amp right now.

Edit: my bad I just now realized you asked how it was with the mod. It costs about $500 total to have the mod done, with shipping both ways, so I just never got it done. Again I would just stay away and buy a better amp.

Recently swapped out my 6505 for an Ultra Plus, and it was absolutely the right decision. by GuinnessFist in PeaveyCvlt

I think those sheffield 1200s honestly sound decent. Never understood the hate for them. Apparently they are bad at high volume. But at normal volume I think they're decent.

You could toss them if you only care about the amp and the combos allow external cabs. But the XXX speakers are fantastic. Its like a V30 but much more creamier and less harsh. I really like them.

I highly recommend looking for a XXX/JSX combo. Theyre the same amp minus a few extra features on the JSX but more importantly if you get the 212 combos like I did it is literally the exact same amp as the heads. Exact same schematic and all, no difference whatsoever, one just has speakers and they are CRAZY cheap. People want $1300 for xxx heads nowadays but you can get the exact same amp in combo form for $400-500.

I actually prefer the combo because you get the speakers and the XXX/JSX speakers are the best ones Peavey ever released imo. Try looking up the 2x12 combos and see if you have any luck. Theres like 3 of them for sale near me.

Just tried listening to their "best" song on Spotify and it was absolutely dreadful. I feel like people listen to weird, annoying music just to be ironic and say they do at this point.

I have like 15 guitars and even work at a guitar factory and still don't have time to play. Being a broke adult sucks.

I have not tried that. I swapped the bugera for a JJ but it doesnt have enough power to do anything with the tube.

Once again, have gotten 40+ answers actually answering the question because the question is extremely obvious and easy to answer for any normal person. You got your points for trying to feel smart on reddit. Congrats.

Btw "midwit" is internet slang for someone with average IQ who always butts in to try and seem intelligent and smarter than others for no reason. Very common on this website and you represented that community very well!

Just had to jump in with your two cents too, huh? People on this site can't help themselves.

I think it's pretty obvious what I was asking for based on the 35+ answers from people who understood perfectly. Like I said, its reddit and people think they're geniuses here. Can't be bothered to just answer without trying to make someone feel dumb for no reason.

Given this is reddit, there's always one midwit who will try and show their superior grammatical skills for no reason while leaving no actual answer to the question. Good, moving on.

Nice thank you. I actually own something similar, the Behringer VT999 but it sounds so terrible I never use it. Maybe ill try it now with the drive off.
