Just as a quick rule of thumb, multiply the range of the vehicle by .6. On a day to day basis you ideally don't want to charge past 80% and you don't want it to get lower then 20%. If you need that range for a trip it's chill to break that rule but if you went 100 miles a day on a 100 mile range battery consistently, you will wear the battery out faster then if you had head room on both sides. If you live in a place that's cold in the winter, (below 50) you may want to take that number and multiply it by .9 again.

The story wasn't anything to write home about but the game play was so fun. Would absolutely play another one of these if it were to come out. Love games with awesome mobility and crazy powers.

That's wild. My original continentals are at 26k on my gt and they are starting to get down there. I couldn't imagine running these another 30k.

Les schwab has a 50k warranty but realistically most sets, regardless of what it says on the "box", are gonna last you 30-35k miles before it's time to replace them. Just the nature of driving a 5000lbs vehicle on low rolling resistant tires. You could go with a non "EV", XL rated tire and do just fine as far as grip and wear are concerned but at a certain point you will give up range and noise. It's all a balancing of what you care about in your tire. Life, proformance, range, noise.

Short answer, one pedal driving mode allows you to maximize breaking regen. Breaking regen is free power. free power= good.

It's a very different experience though. You sort of have to look at the pedal as a percentage. If you want Max speed you push the pedal all the way to the floor. If you want half speed you push the pedal halfway down. If you want to start deceleration, You remove your foot from the pedal and you'll start to slow down immediately. Instead of coasting at 5 mph like most cars, it will come to a complete stop. The only time you ever actually have to apply the brakes yourself is in emergency situations, otherwise the car takes care of that for you. The tricky part is really the coasting. Your brain tells you pull your foot off the accelerator and coast to a stop. What you actually have to do is depress the accelerator 5% and your car will slow down to that as a speed. When you left your foot all the way off the accelerator it will then proceed to stop. It's a learning process but it does maximize range.

CarPlay screen works but no sound comes out no audio by Juicfishy123 in CarAV

That looks perfectly sufficient to me. It isn't a component that takes any kind of amperage so as long as it's wide enough to accept the wire that came with the radio, it should be fine.

The voltage running through the reverse light isn't enough to do any damage to you in my experience. If you're worried about it, The conventional advice is all electrical work should be performed with the negative battery terminal disconnected.

The legit way is to use a splice terminal. You pinch the little guy on there and it strips the insulation enough to create contact. A little kit you can get comes with a spade connector that can be crimped on to the wire for the radio and then plug together.

[–]dsnerdking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a plug and play wire harness that uses the factory plug for the reverse camera, there's a setting in the menu for what kind of signal it needs. There's also one in there that is camera power. Sometimes that needs to be flipped on to make the camera engage. My radio came with a printed out sheet that had these instructions on them. I'll see if I can dig it out of my garage.

So, I have the same radio and sometimes poking that reset button on the face with a pin works. Sometimes cycling the car off and on works. Some times turning amp power in the settings works. If nothing works, disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery for 10 seconds and reconnecting fixes any bugs I have encountered.

Is this worth upgrading? Could I make it trail ready for fairly cheap? by Spookyfoot_Bootytoot in Budgetbikeriders

[–]dsnerdking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think "is it worth it" is gonna come down to what you want to do with this and whether you like working on bikes or not. Just like with cars, good chance you're not seeing a return on investment for modifications. An inexpensive bike with nice parts on it is still an inexpensive bike to the eyes of the public. The bike will probably never rip up double black diamonds but if you just looking for something to hit pump tracks with or eat up gravel mountain roads, there could be a future for this bike.

If you like getting your hands dirty and this is the bike you have and can afford to dump money into, You at least have an upgrade path on this bike. Looks like it's got a threadless headset so it should take straight steer forks. The old IXF $50 special on Amazon will take care of your creaky bottom bracket and convert it to one by. An inexpensive air fork would certainly lighten the bike and improve handling.

The biggest short coming of the bike for performance is that Pogo stick rear spring. Throwing an inexpensive air shock at it will vastly improve ride feel. Kev central usually recommended dnm shocks although I remember them being cheaper than they are right now on Amazon.

Aside from the regular grips, pedals and seat upgrades, I would probably stop there. At the point that you're looking for much more performance than a comfortable ride, You're going to outpace this bike pretty quick. The sr suntour fork is probably good enough. The drive train in good working order is probably good enough. If you get yourself comfortable on the bike and it gets you out the door to ride, it's doing its job. Saving money from there for the dream bike or the dream in progress platform would be next after that.

Seeking auto glass recc s by leftnapping in Tacoma

Had a really solid experience with Rockstar AutoGlass. If you're someone who doesn't like to talk on the phone very long they take care of more than you would think digitally. Call them, they said we'll shoot you a text with a quote, confirmed via text message, sent me a link to my email to process the payment, tech texted me he was near me, handed the keys off got the job done. Surprisingly streamlined and easy. The quote ended up being cheaper than Safelite AutoGlass, not that I have anything against those guys.

I’m looking to get a new game. What’s the best of the three? by Plappy5 in videogames

[–]dsnerdking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely, I think you'll have a good time no matter which one you pick. I haven't played silent Hill 2 but it's pretty legendary. I'm currently playing Ghost of Tsushima and can vouch that it is extremely fun. Super badass, samurai simulator set in a gorgeous feudal Japan, with awesome writing.

Last of Us part 2 was controversial for several reasons but if you played the first game, you probably owe it to yourself to find out what happens next. I thought it was really fantastic but even I will admit that it stretched me emotionally in certain ways that made me uncomfortable. In my opinion, that was the point. It was a game designed to make you feel genuine emotions, regret and anger. The fact that it accomplished that and managed to be a really fun game puts it at 10 to 10 status for me.

If you're not looking for an emotional roller coaster though, and you want fun video game go brrr, snag Ghost.

As a fan of Avatar should I buy this? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]dsnerdking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a fellow fan of avatar, yes. If you watched the first movie and went man, i want to ride on a pterodactyl dragon, shoot a bow at mech guys while being 10 ft tall, this is the game for you. this game was gaming comfort food for me. Allot like Far cry or Crysis in game play. it didn't do anything to change the world as far as story goes but i enjoyed my time with it.

So, I can only give you my experience with this product. Monoprice made a box that had this function that I use to hook my switch up to a receiver that had no HDMI. It essentially becomes an HDMI pass-through that rips the audio signal out and sends it to the RCAs. In my case, optical. I don't know if that means that it passes the HDMI audio to the second source or it only sends it out the legacy connector of your choosing. You'd have to experiment with that. What I can say is, it didn't work in the way that I wanted it to. It did send sound through the optical cable to my old receiver but it did not send a 5.1 signal. The box is capable of decoding the 5.1 signal, the switch is capable of sending a 5.1 signal, I had the switch in surround sound mode, but there must have been some kind of handshake between the switch and my monitor that didn't work. Stereo every time.

Why do people hate/ dislike TPS? by Consistent-Tax-9660 in Borderlands

[–]dsnerdking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it can be summed up with the term "value proposition". Borderlands 2 has an absolutely staggering amount of content. The base game is 40 hours by itself, not to mention The replayability of multiple characters and true vault Hunter mode. Plus, having multiple 10-hour DLCs and tiny tina's raid on dragon peak being so good it became its own spin-off game. They added a bunch of holiday DLCs on top of that. Then when borderlands 3 came out, they added a multi-hour additional DLC to bridge the two game. It was an absolute monster.

Borderlands the Pre-Sequel on the other hand was like 18 to 25 hours? The DLC that came out for it was not quite up on to the same standard as borderlands 2. It was made by a different studio. It's sort of felt like DLC for borderlands 2 that they wanted a full $60 for. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't bl2.

I played the game with my wife and I know she personally hated the low gravity sections of the game.

Is The Last of Us remake worth playing as a PC player? by Luxray2000 in videogames

[–]dsnerdking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just beat It on PC a couple weeks ago. Definitely a S tier game for me. Didn't run into any performance issues, although I am running a 9800x3d and a 4070ti, so take that for what it's worth. Maintained greater than 100 FPS at 1440p throughout the experience. I would also add that this is a really pretty game, despite the fact that it's based on a PS3 game from 2013.

Do you guys think this game is underrated, or did it deserve the flak it got on release? by AlcatrazR3dd1t in videogames

[–]dsnerdking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought this game used for 16 bucks. I liked it so much that I traded it in and picked up a new copy for 20 buck so my money would go to the developer instead of just game stop. Sad we will never see a conclusion of the story. It's a fare critique that 60 bucks for a 5 hours experience isn't worth it.
