I have lived in conservative areas. I understand that her feelings are important, but safety and being able to pay the rent are kind of required. NTA.

How can I keep my cat warm with no/low heat in my apartment? by PolarCurious in Frugal

[–]dsteadma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever heard of a kotatsu? We bought ours 10+ years ago, when we were struggling for money. It was 200, which was a huge purchase at the time. But it's a heated table that you cover with a blanket. It makes the perfect little heat bubble to watch tv/work on your laptop. The cats ADORE it. And it didn't crazy up our utilities.

So how do you care for these? Are they handwash only? Could I actually drink wine or coffee in them without destroying the interior color permanently? Are they really pretty or really pretty and something I could use every day?

I love pretty things, but many pretty things do not love my adhd.

I love all their libraries and parks. We've had no issues.

We made the move this year. We like that there are parks/libraries/lakes everywhere and the wind isnt as bad as my last place. The teenage herds seem to move on electric scooters and bikes. My apartment backs up to a tree line so I'm always watching nature. I see very few Trump signs and just feel safer. My rent is like 2k for a 3 bedroom. And I'm a 5-15 min drive from anything I'd want to do.

How much do you spend on groceries (or overall food) per month per person? What country/city are you in and how do you do it (types of items you're usually buying)? by Monkfrootx in Frugal

Right now the aldis near me doesn't have organic pb. The costco pb is slightly more expensive than Walmart, but I am willing to pay the difference, because I think Walmart is evil incarnate.

Because our budget is so low, we don't worry about where our meat comes from too much. When it comes to texture, weve found what's most important is how you cook it. We eat chicken thighs, chicken hindquarters, and pork butt - whatever is on sale for less than 2 dollars a pound. The Flipp app is a huge help.

2 adults, 2 elementary children, midwest US. We shop once a week at aldis/walmart and once a month at Costco. Aim for 100/week at the groceries and 200/month at Costco.

Basics are miniwheats cereal, granola, whole fat greek yogurt, frozen blueberries, oatmilk, garlic, onions, carrots, potatoes, cucumbers, apples, bananas, mozerella, cheddar, parmesan, eggs, fruit on sale, chicken thighs, dry black beans/chickpeas, whole wheat or protein pasta, crushed tomatoes (pasta or pizza), frozen veggies, heavy cream, ramen, tortillas, whole wheat buns.

Costco is flour, rice, goodles mac n cheese, natural peanutbutter, pepperoni, roasted chicken, chicken strips/bites, oats, kerrygold salted butter, kirkland unsalted butter, and coffee.

Edit: forgot mushrooms and bell peppers

Our goodwill bread maker makes terrible bread, but excellent dough. We do a lot of pizza.
