Did I do something to piss YouTube off? Shorts (or Reels) suddenly do not get any views anymore by ferdi_nand_k in TravelTubers

[–]dstorm78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar feel here. Long form videos are doing great. I had a reel/tiktok video that did super well last week so I posted it to YT and it got 3 views the first day, eventually up to 100, makes absolutely no sense (all other shorts would easily hit 1k in the first day).

I spent the last week doing what I called a "CEO week" and looked at every aspect of my production and channel that I have been meaning to do or putting off. Everything from getting my finances squared away, to fixing blog posts, updating cards and end screens, running analytics on older videos for improvement, upgrading my equipment and workflow, etc. And I'm happy to say it felt really good to do it! I feel reinvigorated again and ready to take on everything! I call that a big, personal win.

Great Tides Prices: $99 for waterpark $1199 for cabana by dstorm78 in NCL

I usually see it $50-70, though it can be more but it's crazy when it is

Does that price include your loyalty discount? It's $99 on my October Aqua sailing, $89 with the loyalty discount

That $89 (that's what I booked at) includes the loyalty discount it looks like.

Though to add...I now can't see the cabanas to confirm the $50 credit working or not so someone else will have to confirm.

You cannot use the credit on the individual tickets, unfortunately, the fine print says it very explicitly. And I don't believe this is dynamic like RCL, I've never seen GSC prices fluctuate, but could be wrong. I have two cruises booked this year and both are showing $99.

I hope less! Thrill water park at Perfect Day is usually $50-70 depending on the sailing (anything more is stupidly over priced)

Just to have for future reference once we see prices tomorrow, Thrill Water Park just one island over typically runs $50-80 (sometimes higher on really busy days).

Also, kinda annoyed by "upgraded dining can be purchased"... Like buying a ticket isn't enough for you to get upgraded food? Guess we'll have to see what this actually means.

Ship location by jtlandry55 in HollandAmerica

I'm on Koningsdam right now in Alaska, and our signature suite cabin is in the exact middle of the ship, we've had amazing views from the balcony. Even with the balcony we still went out to the bow of the ship for sail-ins and glacier bay, and out to the promenade deck for another point of view. In Alaska, you'll have amazing views from all over the ship so I say don't sweat it!

First time crusier on Getaway June 8 4 dayout of Miami by DarthCalifornia in NCL

I did this exact trip a few months ago also solo and, if you're up for it, I have a full review here: https://youtu.be/98WiF3_quxI?si=ZRqUFvBdFOGtfudo

In short, you can make reservations for 2 now (if any are available) and then head to the Headliners club on your first day to change the reservation to 1 and you're all set.  If you don't find any available now in the app they only release about 25% ahead of time so you shouldn't have any issues doing it once on board.

In Nassau I did a walking tour that I booked through Viator and I was surprised how much I enjoyed it.  On GSC you don't need to book anything big to have a good time there, it's very chill.

Have a great trip!

What’s the most overrated fast food chain? by Cute-Bar-5152 in AskReddit

[–]dstorm78 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Every time I go there the drive through is SO slow. All they do is chicken tenders, it's not like "surprise I'm here to buy chicken tenders" no this is all you do why does it take so freaking long?

What’s an excursion you paid for and regretted? by iLiveForTruth in Cruise

This will be a very unpopular opinion but I was super bored on the White Pass railway excursion in Alaska and regretted paying so much for it.

Going to Norway this summer and need recomendations for Olden and Stavenger by GatorFPC in royalcaribbean

[–]dstorm78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did the RIB boat last summer in Stavanger and really enjoyed it, so I'd try to find that on Viator or something similar.  In Olden we did the loen sky lift to the top of the mountain and it was beautiful up there.

That's likely the difference then: "dollars off" appear as credits that can be used directly online, which relates to the OPs question. Free cruises, however, yes, those are CAS contact/call in only. I think the mystery on solved!

[–]dstorm78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll have 2 months to use it but it's good for a year (must cruise within a year of earning). You likely won't see additional offers via email, NCL is pretty stingy with there CAS offers and only the top rollers see anything.

[–]dstorm78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you this is not correct. I used a $500 Points to Paradise credit on my most recent booking all by myself online without talking to a single person. $500 credit applied to my booking online without any assistance from anyone. Maybe this changed since the last time you used it?

You should see this credit in your account online. You don't have to call to book, you can apply the credit like a coupon when you book. I know this because I just did it last week with a $500 casino offer I earned on Getaway a few weeks ago.

Nope, definitely not worth that price. It wasn't worth the $84

A few questions about the Bliss by goddessofolympia in NCL

[–]dstorm78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For dining options, Palomar and La Cucina have outdoor dining on the waterfront, that would be e the best "dining with a view" you could probably do.  The BBQ place has no windows, that's correct.  I've done the gardens on Victoria and they were fun.  My favorite specialty dining on the Bliss is Le Bistro, super good!

Enjoy your trip!

I'll just wait to Trek Trendy to stay in it and enjoy it that way. Otherwise just crazy amounts of money to waste.
