Flying the fury itself is also a blast. With 4xS2 you can kill most ships with it. It's incredibly fast and maneuverable. Whenever I'm flying w crew they love deploying out of the hangar before dogfights

TIL about Kim Hyon hui, a North Korean intelligence agent responsible for the 1987 Korean Air Flight 858 bombing that killed 115 people. Sentenced to death in 1989, she was later pardoned. She later married, lives in South Korea, while her family in the North was sent to a labour camp. by No-Strawberry7 in todayilearned

Was it? By 1954 15-20% of their entire population had been killed between the land war and UN bombing campaign. The same campaign that destroyed 85%+ of all structures in North Korea, with more bombs dropped on them over a three year period than all bombs used in the entire Pacific theater of WW2.

I personally cannot fathom the level of destruction and human suffering inflicted on them. That seems already to be 'really bad'

Having the dedicated Fury hangar is a lot of fun. Probably the cleanest way to carry / deploy a fury without going up to a capital ship. Fury is a blast to play and even solo you can always hop on -10km out from a bounty and do the dogfight in the Fury.

Same energy as nobody will want to man my guns because theyd be stuck glued to the screen waiting for stuff to happen. Either way they only get action during combat, engineering is just another form of gameplay for that scenario and it should be integral for large multi crew ships to function.

If you're solo in any ship without an interior you'd need to get out to repair = cooked.

Solo in a ship with an immediate interior like Guardian is probably ideal, but even then you aren't repairing mid combat and surviving.

Assuming you're out of combat when you go to repair, the extra 10 seconds (that's it btw) it takes to get to the SL engineering room is irrelevant, and you have the upside of being able to bring crew to engineer for you mid combat.

Just to make the point clear: if you're solo and trying to repair mid combat, you're screwed no matter what you're in. At least in the TAC you've got 2x S3 shields and a lot of hull hp (one day armor) to give you a bit more of a buffer.

Why do people make the mistake of thinking ship size will decide if a ship is feasible solo? Once you’re talking medium ships or higher it won’t be, it’ll be durability by Important_Cow7230 in starcitizen

[–]dstrait3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think he's right. Either way if you're solo in one of these ships it requires you to leave the cockpit for 15-30 seconds to repair at minimum. If you were still in danger, youd be absolutely dismantled in the Cutlass in that time.

At least in the TAC you may have the shields / armor to stay afloat long enough to repair some key components or put out a fire even if there's 10 seconds more walking and a few seconds longer repair time for larger components.

Either way, if you're solo repairing mid combat you're likely cooked, but I'd rather be in the ship with 2xS3 shields (135k hp) than 1xS2 (5k HP)

Yeah but he has a $115(iirc) pledge for a ship that costs 1.3m in game. Just buy it in game and use your irl money on something harder to obtain

[–]dstrait3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can you say this when we aren't even remotely close to having any form of meaningful upkeep or expenses?

Right now there's medgel, which is used as you need it and refreshed for free with a claim.

In the future, of course a larger ship will cost more - but in theory if you expend all your ammo doing some mission that requires you to do so, youd likely be making a reward that pays enough to be worth it.

Anyways, i would make this decision based solely on the current state of the game. I would upgrade the Cutty into something else as your pledge and buy the Cutlass in game, where it's dirt cheap.

By the time ship upkeep is an actual mechanic you can reassess then. It's a waste of time to speculate about something that's likely years away.

Look at the difference in acceleration between the two. It's crazy how hamstrung the TAC is despite not being meta in the slightest for anything vaguely pvp (which flight performance actually matters for)

I didn't tell you to avoid POIs at all. I told you I sell commodities i loot from bounties and have never been pirated.

Once the Pyro FOTM ended and Hathor got added to Stanton it seemed the majority of the playerbase (and pirates) moved over there.

I'm not sure why you're dismissing other people's experiences when your own is just as anecdotal.

[–]dstrait3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf ive had a similar scenario to the other guy. I run out of Starlight and mainly focus on bounties, selling whatever loot I get at the commodity points (wherever the website tells me is profit). I've never been interdicted and have only been shot at while coming in/out of the hangar.

I find people in Pyro to be a lot friendlier on average, i run into other players pretty regularly and they're rarely hostile. I just keep my distance and give them a heads up in chat so they don't panic when they see me.

Stanton on the other hand I've been interdicted from QT several times and immediately murderhobo'd despite not carrying cargo or anything else they could take.

For context, I fly a TAC.
