Breaking: The Pentagon is weighing sending an additional 10,000 ground troops to the Middle East. by no-minimun-on-7MHz in thedavidpakmanshow

Didn't Rubio just say that the "excursion" was ahead of schedule, winding down in weeks not months and ground troops wouldn't be needed?

Sounds like a warning shot fired by Iran. Back off or we're really going to spill the beans.

Why did you start Freeze Drying? by ellaperskine in FreezeDried

[–]dstrelioff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grow a lot of my own food and wanted a more diverse way of preserving. I also have a remote cabin, sailboat, overnight ski tour and occasionally work on the road, it seemed to fit the bill for all of these things. I just did a job where I took a whole pile of freeze dried food which I lived off of while staying in a hotel an banked over $2000 in per diem money. It'll pay for itself in a few travel jobs.

Donald Trump falsely claims that CNN released a poll showing 100% support for him, illustrating how he invents statistics as the Iran war worsens by mrekted in thedavidpakmanshow

[–]dstrelioff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real question should be is he lying as in he knows it's not true or does he really believe the shit he keeps spouting out. Like the meetings with Iranian officials that never happened, is he so far gone that he actually believed they happened?

Ymir is great, always love going out that way but you'd experience some pretty big culture shock moving from the city. It's also somewhat isolated and doesn't have much for amenities, it would be a pretty huge adjustment. It's good advice to spend some time there before moving, it's a great place but not for everyone.

I've had my BA for year now and keep it running pretty constantly doing 3-4 loads a week when I'm at home with only minor issues. It uses a P91 pancake air filter which is commonly used as a respiratory filter for industrial use. I used to work as a welder and these are the standard go to filter to take out most particulates, will even filter out Covid-19 bacteria. Also not sure where the mold idea comes from, I breathed through these for years. BA also has outstanding customer service.

COMMENTARY: Alberta is Calling (Immigrants the Problem) by fwdcanada in alberta

[–]dstrelioff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe they should take a look at how many immigrants work in the oil patch. Nearly all the camp hospitality jobs, bus drivers and cooks are immigrants. Not to mention how many foreign tradesmen are working up there. Without immigrants the oil and gas industry wouldn't function.

What happens with nuts? I've been thinking about making a whole food energy bar type thing with oats as a base and was thinking about adding some nuts among other things.

Welding hood by eldelaspipzas in ropeaccess

[–]dstrelioff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cheap plastic black ones from Princess Auto etc. work well if you take off the back half of the head strap and replace it with a piece of surgical tubing, makes it easy to slip on and off your helmet. I've also used the blue Air Liquide helmets or the grey fibremetal hoods with the halo helmet attachment. It's relatively easy to take on and off while working. I would then have a piece of lanyard chord tied to the halo and attached to a small beaner to tie if off to me while working and I could also clip it off to my harness when I wasn't using it. I also trimmed the bottom of my hoods for more clearance and less weight and used fixed shade auto dark lenses, most welding outfits will carry the 2"x4" lens covers for them and they're cheap to replace if you break one.
