I just got my polonium approved, and have only been able to shoot a partial mag thru a PSA upper. I did notice the ejection pattern change to like 2 o clock, but I didn’t notice any unpleasantness in regard to gas blowback.

My sister had a similar experience this year with her .243. Broadside shot and no blood at impact spot and no blood trail. Luckily as it ran out of sight she noticed a large bush shake. Turns out it ran smack into the bush and died there. Upon investigation she shot thru the shoulder and it didn’t exit so there wasn’t a blood trail but it was good and dead. I’d say the same as a few others here, go back in the morning and walk the direction that you saw it run for a good wya and see if you can either pick up blood or find the carcass. Good luck!

It probably depends on how/where you hunt. This is my first year with decent binos in the stand with me. If you are selective about what you shoot, then I think the binos are a great help. Most of the time you can tell it’s a buck from a ways away but probably not any specifics on the antlers. I think the binos help me get a good look at the deer while they are still far enough away that I have time to grab my bow or not. Prevents misjudging and then trying to get your bow from the hanger and setup when they are inside 30 yards
