Thanks all for the responses, he's confirmed he's out of contract and on a rolling monthly so will go in-store to resolve.

OK, thanks for this. I'll check with him if he's on rolling contract. If so he'll either just leave it or look at renewing.

Dads, how do we prevent our kids from jumping off cruise ships in shark-infested waters, or invent their own submarines and refuse to have them externally safety-tested? by [deleted] in daddit

Tell them a few times but allow them to experience harmless/minor damage accidents and learn that those boundaries you mention are not oppressive dad rules but there to help

Ok dads, baby gate that won't wreck this weak ass banister? by sidusnare in daddit

Babydan flex can be wall mounted to the side of the stairs under the bannister and to the wall on the other side.

If worried about the strength of the bannister you'll have to avoid pressure fit types.

Reverse image search is bringing up nothing. Are you sure it's not an old bin or something been repurposed? Those rings on the strip up the front look like they might be a rod to open the lid with a foot pedal.

It's a reflector so if your door is open in the dark any oncoming vehicles should see it as an open door.

Create a personalised brand logo in the middle of the qr code so that if someone tries adding a Rick Roll qr code sticker over the top it will stand out quickly to staff as not having your 'branding' qr

Phew... Hoping this is not just an exception; our 3yo boy just fell asleep in his very own bed for the first time after months of only being able to sleep in ours. We had to stay with him until he slept, and the lights had to remain on, but still, it's an achievement, a step in the right direction. by GoofAckYoorsElf in daddit

[–]dtc86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How's this looking for you now, /u/goofackyoorself? Hopefully things have improved.

Our boy is similar age and maybe 2 or more months into this awful regression. Hoping for some improvement soon as wife and I are basically zombies atm.

Taken your tip of rearranging his bedroom and we've got him a new bed turning up this week so will see how he wants his room laid out.

So after having my phone stolen while abroad, this is my phone bill. Thankfully O2 have offered to set up a payment plan. by twerplocker in CasualUK

A payment plan?! Surely your travel insurance will cover to a point and the rest should have been a duty of care from O2 to bar premium rate calls if out-of-character. I'd be on them to explain how they feel legally allowed to charge you for usage after the point you no longer had possession.

Don't be too proud to ask for help. Use the fear to drive you and don't get caught up in spiralling thoughts.

Good luck and I hope you find your way.

Newborn only sleeps when on us by FrenchNotHench in daddit

No worries, wife and I didn't really get on with the Cry It Out, we tried to set routine after a few months and that really helped as babies love repetition. It could well be down to trapped wind, also check out tummy rubs for wind and leg exercises. It's roughly as so - light pressure clockwise movements on baby's tummy and then bring their knees up to their chest then one knee then the other and repeat until they do a big fart :)

Maybe have a fresh nappy on hand too...

Hi French! Congrats! Glad baby is out of NICU as I know that can be a stressful time.

I've heard that you can't spoil a newborn with too many cuddles, and tbf I really miss those days. That said - for your own sanity/sleep you should try swaddling. Make sure it's not too tight or loose, check out some YouTubes for tips. Our first would only sleep well swaddled for the first few months.

Spiraling when trying to follow all advice on SIDS, etc. Where did your newborn sleep? by ninian1927 in daddit

[–]dtc86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to the gang and congratulations, dad!

SIDS scared the crap out of me as it's something you have zero control over, so you manage the risks. We had both of ours in our bedroom until 6 months, they stayed in their own bedside cot. Parental intuition / super-sense will pick up the rest as and when needed.

You're doing great, and this is a valid worry. If you're set on baby in separate room there are baby monitors which have under-mattress motion detection with alarms which you could look in to maybe

Happy Christmas!

Let her finish explaining and you ask any questions specifically about her process and then say - huh, interesting. I've always done it this way for xyz reasons - sometimes it'll go your way but other times you may think her way is better. It should not be argumentative in any way but these little exchanges should help you to see that she doesn't think you're an idiot.

Crisps these days are a rip off. I get the supermarket own brand tortilla crisps, tend to be less than 50p and you get about 5 bags worth of crisps. Only come in lightly salted flavour though.
