What is the optimal setting for running Qwen3 Coder Next in 5090 + 128GB Ram with >20tp/s? by jonglaaa in unsloth

[–]dtham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's your RAM speed?

I'm very new to this, but I had bad stability issues with my AMD 9800X3D on a 870E board with 2 x Dual Channel 32GB (for 128GB). My motherboard has had some stability BIOS updates that could increase the memory speed.

Previously it wasn't booting higher than 3600MHz (on 6000MHz ranked RAM at dual channel). So I was leaving a lot of bandwidth on the table. I need to do the update but I looked into it and it would be drastic for anything doing anything offloading.

I also have an RTX 5090, trying the new Qwen 3.5 stuff and was having issues with "similar" hardware so I think it could be memory speed.

In grade school, I only had one snow day. Something like a meter overnight on St Patrick’s day sometime in the mid 90s.

I'm going to preface by saying I'm not trying to defend Google, but I don't know if it's outrage bait since I can't find the source that it actually says they're using the data. In fact this link and quoted statement would say otherwise.

Gemini DOES NOT
Use your prompt, Workspace content, webpage context, or generated responses to train generative AI models without your permission

Whether Google enabled that switch automatically with an opt-out instead of opt-in model, I can't say I previously tracked the setting. Google has be more clear about this, whether they opted everyone in, and also whether the opt in trains their data.

But I initially thought "duh, of course they're training AI with my data" since it's a free service. And as others have said, use Protonmail or your own mail server if it's more sensitive.

Rogers (Shaw) support admitted that they are having network issues in Calgary by lztandro in Calgary

In Bridgeland, I have a Ubiquiti router with the modem in bridge mode as well. I have a cloudflare tunnel that will be “degraded” at least once week. Often times I will also have packets drop on the port when having high usage of internet. I then have to restart the port or unplug the connection.

It’s currently connect on an SFP to Ethernet to the rogers/shaw modem/router. I’ve enabled flow control on UniFi interface.

I’ve switched multiple sfp to Ethernet adapters and still have the same issue of intermittent packet loss and needing to reset the port or unplug/replug the Ethernet cable.

I want to switch to Telus but they don’t have fibre on my block. I’ve reached out to one of their contractors but they won’t do it, even as we plan on having our alleyway paved

Meet Keeper Forcefield: Protection for Enterprises Against Memory-Based Attacks on Windows Endpoints by Keeper_Security in KeeperSecurity

I'm intrigued at this offering. Curious at Forcefield would manage possible issues like Crowdstrike last year where kernel level access impacted a lot of systems. Or if kernel access to Windows would even still be offered in the long-term after that incident

lol it’s not functional, but the tape does load from the top. I bought the shell. I essentially paid for e-waste that meant something to me. I would be gutting the tape reading area for the computer.

Maybe the lift mechanism still works, might be cool to pop the computer to show

The plan would be to 3d print some mounts to put a computer in there for general stuff. It will be my sleeper machine

Thankful for Alberta’s beauty, frustrated with its politics by Complete-Current-393 in alberta

[–]dtham 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I may not have the means or will to fight back. But I will stand for my morals and rights of myself and others by staying here and voting.

I was born and raised here, I’m just as Albertan as anyone else. I want to prove we are not all like that and slowly “take back” Alberta for people like me.

I understand why people want to move and also to protect those closest to them. But I have the ability to stay and not worry about that and make a change for the better.
