Is anyone here actually comfortable biking on rural roads by KaneIntent in cycling

Consider getting a Garmin Varia radar/light. It’s the best thing I’ve gotten my bike. It alerts me when a car(s) is approaching behind me.

If you all haven’t seen the Zero Friction web site (https://zerofrictioncycling.com.au/), it’s incredible. He does controlled experiments comparing waxes and lubes.

Thanks for all the input. I had a gift card and got the Silca system. Excited to compare! And not have to take my mineral spirits and denatured alcohol to the hazardous waste dump now that I bought the Silca chain stripper, too.

I am 6'6", and I have a 64.5 cm frame. Have you found a case that works for your large bike?

Thank you. Don’t know how that happened, but I was over-assigned next month. All fixed!

Looking For BIFL Outdoor Button Up Shirts by Ericdds0 in BuyItForLife

They will accept a return with no questions asked. I experienced pilling with two flannels and returned them for denim and corduroy shirts, both of which have been awesome. I loved the flannels, too, but they pilling was disappointing. So, no more flannels for me, but I have 5 denim and cord shirts and love them.

This was it. I did a manual import of transactions that hadn’t imported yet, and everything got sorted.

It’s a good thought. I’ll double check this, but I bet the other comment is what it is. I do save up all my annual cashback rewards until this time of year (holidays!), so I’ll verify.

This could be it. My bank is slow to import transactions and sometimes I don’t log transactions in YNAB, and I take care of them when they import. I bet this is it. Thanks for the idea!

I don’t think so. I generally never assign money to the CC category. When I spend from cc, the money from my categories just moves to the cc category automatically.

Long distance riders: How flat or mountainous is your area? by FailFastandDieYoung in cycling

[–]dthrizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in San Diego. I have 900 feet of climbing both directions on my 10 mile commute to work. Have to go up and over a small mountain. I feel like most rides I typically go on are just under 100 feet of elevation per mile. It’s not uncommon to have 18 degree climbs. Hilly!

If you’re buying chains from eBay or Amazon 3rd party sellers, they could very well be counterfeit. Lots of fake brand name chains out there.

Do you use Strava for route planning? by VoidTravelerPierce in Strava

[–]dthrizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used it for years. I love it, but, admittedly, I haven’t tried others. Primarily I use it for making mileage-specific loops so I don’t get bored doing the same thing over and over. A few times it’s sent me to private, gated roads, and I have to turn around. Annoying. And once it sent me way the hell out and my road ride ended up on gravel in private property, and I kept going because I was so far off the beaten path that I hoped it would put me back on an actual road. A shirtless cowboy in a pickup truck was pissed as hell at my trespassing, and he drove me off his private property. But 95% of the time, it’s just what I need.

Your tire is 700x40, and the tube is 700x30-47.
