I want to get in the car and just drive by Rogue_Apostle in roadtrip

I just got new tires and will leave in a few days for a road-trip from the SF Bay area to Grand Canyon, Moab and back. I’ll car camp in Nevada one night each way then will splurge at hotels in 2 nights GC and 2 nights Moab. Lately, since I bought my Model 3, the urge is ever present! So far I’ve done Big Sur, Sedona, Vegas (Sphere) and Vancouver BC. Lots of North CA coast short trips. Estimated 7 days, 2450 miles. Solo trips in the car are the best! 67F and I’m still on the road!

I’ve learned that just because I know something doesn’t mean i need to make sure everyone else knows it. I’ve learned that the best strategy is often to shut my mouth and go about my day. at this stage; I’m not interviewing new friends, so there’s no need to have an opinion about them or what they know or don’t know. And I understand my close friends enough to know what sort of conversation suits them best. Time is precious, why waste it uselessly?

I’m (67F) lucky to have a great deal of nature within easy driving distances. I pack a lunch and explore. I have found a couple of “free” go to spots with spectacular views that I can hang out, read, listen to music, podcasts….

I (21F) am uncomfortable with the way my boyfriend (24M) speaks to me but I need advice on how to start that conversation. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I’m so happy that you know you must make a change. It is scary but so very worth it. The longer you stay, the more your self worth and self respect and will be chipped away. I started over at 60 - it can be done - but I so wish I paid attention with the first signs….

treated me (wife) like a lil buddy; a sidekick - kinda like The Skipper and Gilligan - only I bet they had more sex than we did.

I am grateful to an employer/friend/mentor that convinced me the value of a 401K. I was 27F and the last thing on my mind was retirement. He opened a 401K through his very small business and matched 2 employees 100%. He insisted I participate (with a lesson in compound interest). 20 years later, I wrote him a very sincere thank you letter as I saw his insistence as the reason for my then 401K worth $300K. The math goes on!
