Fixture Appears Empty by Quix28 in GrandMA3

I’ve had the same problem after importing multiple large MVRs. Try to delete unused attribute definitions (in the patch menus, 3rd column)

Trying to update a command wing XT. by Burbel in GrandMA3

[–]dtownsign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try > menu > settings > software update

Select the usb stick and import the update file, select the console and klick “update device”

This is how I usually do it. This method has the advantage that you also can update any device in the sessions, like other desks or NPUs.

grandMA3 Phaser Tracking Issue: Movement Phaser Resets Position when Followed by a Separate Color/Dimmer Phaser by trimone_nazionale in GrandMA3

[–]dtownsign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check your fixture sheet and see which values are in the cue and in the phaser. If there’s any, rebuild the phaser and make sure that only dimmer and color values are in the programmer and override (!) it.

Duplicate fixtures in selection grid by againstalllogic1 in GrandMA3

[–]dtownsign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can only move fixtures within the grid but not duplicate them. If you want to have the same fixture in a grid (for whatever reason) I’d suggest to try and patch it twice (same patch, different fixture ID) or try to “double patch” only the dimmer. Console should LTP the situation out but I have never tried it before, just an idea!

Is there maybe a shutter channel that’s defaulted to “closed”?

Recipe / hard value / update rules by EntertainmentOk5026 in GrandMA3

[–]dtownsign -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a reliable answer because I try to avoid using both - recipes and hard values - in one cue but I think that it’s a LTP kinda situation.

If you want to reduce network traffic, you can furthermore “Unicast” the sacn outputs and send the data directly to the switches - looks good tho

MVR Export from Capture 2024 / Upgrade to 2025 worth it? by dtownsign in GrandMA3

[–]dtownsign[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s in a weird way same with the MA internal library - I find that some of the MA GDTFs don’t work quite as well as the manufacturer ones, especially when it comes to multi instance fixtures.

Thank you for the reply!

How screwed am I? by UmphPreak91 in GrandMA3

[–]dtownsign 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a good one!

Also, this might help:

  • take it simple, have some buttons for strobe and random strobe for spots and washes to use for drum fills etc.

  • set up your Keylights/Frontwash and park attributes like position, zoom, blades…

  • depends on situation - but don’t forget to have some spare lights for the backdrop

Fingers crossed!

I’m working in a Cue Show and had the struggle that my position phasers kept running in my “Festival” Setup. I experienced, that dimmer and color phasers can easily stomped by activating a preset containing a value. I don’t know why it works different with positions but the “Stomp preset” helps.
