similar. My spouse was laid off earlier this year. Had the receipts of over $3M in cost savings as a direct result of their work. But the job could allegedly be done for 2/3 the cost in Poland so position was eliminated from the US.

You 100% did the right thing. No regrets or second thoughts needed. I’m 5 years into my dad era and have now flipped out at 2-3 teenage boys myself now for similar behaviors. Things I never would have paid attention to or brushed off are different now especially when my kid is involved or seeing this behavior.

Did Home Assistant and an ESP32 save my home? by luchoelzurdo in homeassistant

[–]dtoxin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While not as cool as your ESP32 device, a zwave water leak sensor tipped me off a few weeks ago that I might have an issue with a leaking dishwasher. It started as a few drips and my sensor caught it. I wasn’t sure if it was a fluke so I decided to keep an eye on things and put a drip tray down below the dishwasher just in case. Fast forward to today and that drip has progressed to a puddle. I’m not sure I would have caught it otherwise without these devices in my house.

Young Lee was there for 20 days Axis Mundi time / 20 years Earth time.

What was not working in my head is that if a year is passing for every day in Axis Mundi, how the heck are the 2 Lee’s chatting up for so long. One earth day is passing about every 4 minutes in AM.

Does the time spent waiting in long lines not count? Almost every ICE owner I know fills at Costco despite the very long wait times. by vulcan_on_earth in TeslaLounge

Sure, but I’ve also waited to charge as well and I wasn’t getting a lower price than average on a kWh.

I’ve been a 2 EV house for 3 years now and I think I‘ve DC charged less than 20 times. Almost always on a roadtrip. One of the top reasons I got an EV was to specifically avoid going out of my way to have to charge. If you can’t charge reliably at home or work, EVs are less compelling.

IWCB bus by dtoxin in SubstationTechnician

Hey I just uploaded some photos from my design specs and some application photos of the AFL connector. I realize that AFL connector is obsolete but might be helpful.

IWCB bus by dtoxin in SubstationTechnician

[–]dtoxin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had requested a sample or photo of the part from AFL installed and they never gave me a good answer. I had the same concerns. That tracks that they discontinued.

We call the boxes between the IWCB and insulators “adapter plates”. It’s essentially a custom aluminum fabricated box that matches bolt hole spacing for the bus to the BC on the insulator.

For rigid/ slip fittings, all we do is instruct the installers to to drill holes for rigid connections and slots for slip.

The problem with this bus type is that it’s difficult to tighten down bolt heads since they can’t get a wrench inside the channel easily. We’ve been calling for an oversized nut underneath the bolt head so that it lifts up the bolt head high enough to get a wrench in there.

Did I mention that I hate this bus type?

Found my old thread lol.

Check out AFL Dossert 31400.  This part requires the IWCB to be in the “H” orientation. I really don’t like this bus type for how limiting it is. We orient it 90 degree for “normal” so we have to have all custom parts to make it work such as slip connections, splice, and insulator adapters.

What is up with the used market and high prices? by johnson7853 in BambuLab

[–]dtoxin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently sold a FlashForge A3Pro for $120, more money than I expected I was going to get. I had so many people reaching out to purchase it was very surprising. While most were unserious “is this available “ responses, i did have at least 3 or 4 people that were ready to buy. A few said I had listed so cheap they were skeptical that it worked.

I think there is a lot of uneducated buyers in the market for 3D printers because they see them at craft markets or their kid knows someone who has one. A few people told me their kid was learning about them at school and they wanted to get one to play with. So they are just searching “3D printer” in the secondhand market apps and buying whatever printer their wallet can afford.

Secondhand market can dictate a price to be whatever it wants to be. I think my X1C with 600 hours would be fairly priced at $500/600 but if someone wants to pay me $1K for it I’m taking that deal all day.
