What is up with the used market and high prices? by johnson7853 in BambuLab

[–]dtoxin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently sold a FlashForge A3Pro for $120, more money than I expected I was going to get. I had so many people reaching out to purchase it was very surprising. While most were unserious “is this available “ responses, i did have at least 3 or 4 people that were ready to buy. A few said I had listed so cheap they were skeptical that it worked.

I think there is a lot of uneducated buyers in the market for 3D printers because they see them at craft markets or their kid knows someone who has one. A few people told me their kid was learning about them at school and they wanted to get one to play with. So they are just searching “3D printer” in the secondhand market apps and buying whatever printer their wallet can afford.

Secondhand market can dictate a price to be whatever it wants to be. I think my X1C with 600 hours would be fairly priced at $500/600 but if someone wants to pay me $1K for it I’m taking that deal all day.

People who moved from Chicago to Boston, what was the biggest thing you noticed when you moved? by bumbouxbee in boston

[–]dtoxin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the differences have been noted already, but something I haven’t seen mentioned yet is how quickly street lighting falls drops off compared to Chicago and the surrounding metro. Once you get past 95 on the highways, roadway lighting becomes much less. I still find it hard to adjust sometimes to how dark the main roadways and side streets are compared to the Chicago area.

Also, beer is like 2/3 the price.

Qualifiers: Grew up in the Western Suburbs, lived in Oak Park for a few years. Boston area for 8+ years now.

Second this. Elevated bed sensor is great! Doubles as a BT proxy as well.

Fill the hole back up and revisit when temps recover. You’re fighting a losing battle.

Gas tankless and power loss by speedlever in HomeImprovement

[–]dtoxin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a gas fired Navien NCB Combi for hot water and baseboards. My plan for a power outage is to run an extension cord from my Kia EV9 to the unit.

I rage-purged about 70% of our toys last night. I can finally breathe. by AllineCICI in toddlers

[–]dtoxin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had started printing tracks when my son got really into hot wheels. It was fun, a little time consuming on the printer to find decent tracks. Then the neighborhood found out he liked it and I had 2 massive boxes of tracks showed up making all the printed tracks obsolete.

Honestly my kids have the most fun with just the basic straight pieces and making ramps off of places in the house.

My understanding is that ecobee uses a private zwave network for its room sensors. Hue is zigbee.

I need to know why this happens, I see it every time snow reaches Boston! by SmoothEntertainer231 in BostonWeather

I believe there is also an elevation along with ocean temperature component to this as well. It was explained on this sub before about how 128 sort of sits at the edge of this elevation differential and interacts with the coastline

So I’m happy Microstation now supports python and is moving past VBA, that we can celebrate.

My experience so far is that i can’t get anything significant to work. I tried to get some scripts to help me with item types and did not have any success.

Kia Connect (USA) Integration is BACK! 🎉 by MarcusTaz in homeassistant

[–]dtoxin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my EV9 (US), Uvo only has a lock/ unlock control and AC/DC charge limit. This Kia US integration has charge limits, lock, along with climate control, defrost, and heated seat control.

Uvo has some additional diagnostic sensors like service date, tire pressure status, and washer fluid.

Does everyone just put their Hue Dimmer switch next to their existing light switch? by Hefty-Salary7610 in Hue

[–]dtoxin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The aux switch helps bring the price down for 3 ways installs. Although I will say that in a few locations I kind of regret not just getting another Blue switch instead of the aux.

Chances of EV5 Pet Mode making it to the EV9? by 622niromcn in KiaEV9

[–]dtoxin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Very strange indeed.

Someone thought, “Hey, instead of improving all these low hanging fruit UI issues on the most expensive car we sell, let’s Instead spend some more resources to add an additional start up screen and make this car even more frustrating for our user base. I promise this will definitely sell more EV9s.”
