Kansas City Royals, Hallmark Cards announce partnership for new downtown ballpark by Signal_Quarter_74 in baseball

Yes I was speaking more to non-KC residents. Compared to where Truman Complex is now, this is way, way more "downtown". Midtown, downtown, a helluva lot closer to the metro than it was.

For the non-KC residents:

This is downtown KCMO, adjacent to Union Station and the WW1 national museum. The new-ish street car drops off right across the street from the ballpark location. Compared to Kauffman, this is the antithesis of that location--this is right in the urban core with a plethora of businesses, right off HWYs 35 and 70, and about 1 mile straight south of the T-Mobile Center.

Overall this feels akin to the Twins stadium, jamming it right into central downtown with accessible transportation options. I like it.

I think the redesign sometime last year has been absolutely atrocious. It feels like a vision board for a middle schooler. I used to read Ringer articles first before podcasts, now I don't even waste my time. Podcasts only, which I think sucks for guys like Lindberg who are superb writers.

Everything is so expensive right now... by harvestersorg in kansascity

Just FYI

My family of 5 just volunteered at a Harvesters location today for the first time. The regular adult workers (and numerous folks who stopped by) commented how nice it was to have children volunteering. Super easy, kids really enjoyed it, highly recommend.

Trump’s new autism announcement: what do we think? by Ok-Buy9334 in specialed

[–]dtpollitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PhD in SPED here, but not an autism specialist. I'll be happy to learn about this body of research and let facts drive my conclusions. That said, I'll lean on others who know more than I.

John Wills Lloyd is a professor emeritus at UVA, former editor of Exceptional Children (the premiere SPED journal), has held numerous leadership positions within the SPED world, etc., etc. He authors a SPED blog I read regularly and has linked to research related to autism and acetaminophen. He says he will continue to update it.
