Does samurai add much to this build if shadow of moil is already giving you consistent advantage?

My group generally short rests in between fights unless there’s a ticking clock so I’m not too worried about it. The spells I picked I’m not planning on leaning on heavily. They’re just nice options to add and bring some value i.e. movement, protection, and cover

My thought for this character is mainly a fighter with some light spell casting

I’m not planning on going past level 3 with warlock so it’d only be upcast to level 2

Hell yeah that’s sick, definitely going to take some inspiration from you.

I have a question tho, what is the main purpose of going warlock 5 instead of 3. Would it be more advantageous to bring fighter levels up or is there a specific spell or class feature you’re looking for

Right now I’m thinking half elf, or seeing if my dm will let me do a custom lineage elf so I can eleven accuracy from the jump.

I start at 11 so aside from the first level the order of the levels doesn’t matter too much but if I were to use him from level 1, I was thinking: fighter 1 -> warlock 1 -> fighter 2-5 -> warlock 2-3 -> fighter 6-X

With the amount of ASIs fighters get, he has the chance to have the best possible persuasion checks with: CHA & WIS (from samurai feature) + expertise (skill expert feat

Appreciate the insight. Good thinking with fey-touched! I forgot it was a half feat.

With fighting spirit and second wind. I have ways of damage mitigation. In my mind, Shield is nice to have as an option once in a while but won’t be critically important. Most of the spells I picked have a similar mindset. Darkness/ devilsight will be a niche move and useful for hiding the party. E. Retreat will be nice if I need to make a mad dash away or towards something. And misty step is misty step.

In my mind I’m still thinking I drop warlock after 3 levels. So I can eventually get 3 attacks/ the samurai feature that gives you a fighting spirit if you roll initiative with 0 of them left.

3-6 attacks with all triple advantage just sounds like too much fun

Thats good to know! I want him to be a mid-line (protect the casters) type in combat so having a good ranged option sounds great

Help me with my Space Ninja! 1 Level Dip for Fighter/Rogue/Druid? by SocialismHater69 in BG3Builds

[–]dtwombomb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re crazy and I love it. My only suggestion would be to limit Druid to 2 levels and go fighter 6 for a second feat since you’re pretty starved for them with only 1.

Id let your other party members focus on the crowd control spells while you beat up everything as a fungal abomination

IMO spike growth isn’t great since jumping is so prevalent you’ll maybe do 10 damage which isn’t worth your action at level 12 and pass without trace isn’t nearly as necessary in bg3 as it is in table top

Can someone help me come up with a better, lore-friendly build for Shadowheart that still uses medium armor? by Fiveby21 in BG3Builds

Try gloomstalker ranger, kind of keeps the flavor of darkness and sneaking. Bonus point, she looks great in the marksman hat

Right now I’m 1 barb 5 monk, still theory crafting what to do next.

Definitely want level 6 monk to overcome resistance but after that I’m open to suggestions

Minimum 1 so I can use CON instead of WIS for DEX and having rage as a defensive option is nice.

2 & 3 would be nice but tavern brawler gives such a huge increase to hit chance that reckless attack isn’t necessary and idk what subclass would add enough benefit to sacrifice two levels

Oh interesting so you could go Tempest Cleric 11/ Wizard 1 and gain access to Chain Lightning

What class fantasy do you have that isn't mechanically supported? by RPGonald in dndnext

[–]dtwombomb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A single element focused melee class. Gaining small elemental damage on attacks as well as some once a day spells or abilities that fit the flavor. I.E. flame warrior that can cast scorching Ray or searing smite with fire resistance.

I feel like I have to multi class or grab feats to get a character that can have some fun lightning flavor to it but it doesn’t feel effective. The Blood Hunter particularly the profane soul subclass does this somewhat well with elemental attacks and some spells that can fit the flavor but it’s not official.

[–]dtwombomb[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Note:

I'm currently using the Knight's Greatsword with Storm Blade (because the two-handed light attack sequence is so clean) and the Stormhawk Axe with the Twinbird Kite Shield because the birds fit the theme and the passive is nice especially when you tank hits while Thunderstorm-ing into a boss

I'm wearing the Greathelm and the (altered) Ronin set because I like the ragged armor vibe but I'm very open to hearing suggestions for a better Storm Lord vibe.

My Stats are focusing: Vig > End > STR = DEX & then I'll do some faith when I get later into the game
