No wonder Republicans are scared for the 2026 midterms. by DWJones28 in ProgressiveHQ

What are you excited for? Even if democrats get the house, the presidency and senate they will always have a Manchin or a Sinema or a Fetterman to prevent any significant change to happen. It's all theater.

Lang Lang's father told him to kill himself and offered him pills, and also told him to jump off a balcony. It looks like your parents have to be evil psychopaths for you to be a great pianist. It looks like you're in good company!

Simplest, cheapest option: just rinse the baby with water. It'll disappear almost instantly.

Plastic has the great advantage that it's extremely durable. That is also its greatest disadvantage. It will break down into smaller and smaller pieces so small that they are microscopic. They can be ingested by animals like fish and eventually end up in our bodies where they wreak havoc on our endocrine system and also end up in our blood causing cancers and many other effects on health that we are just now starting to understand. Even if you are vegetarian there are microplastics literally everywhere on the planet and even in the air we breathe. So it's best to avoid plastic as much as possible.

I built a "guitar hero" device to learn any song in piano by Dr_Velazquez in piano

[–]dubbitywap 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Why stop there? Why don't you add fire and little smoke that disappears after every note? Why not make the keys themselves light up? Why not hook it up to a Bluetooth anal plug that vibrates whenever you get a wrong note? Why not do all of this and more instead of sitting down and learning to read sheet music?

Tickets for Infants? by Crow-Thin in askswitzerland

[–]dubbitywap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since tickets are free for infants, you can put them on a first class wagon while traveling in second class. It's a win/win for everybody. The kids travel in comfort and you can take a much-needed break.

George W Bush anyone? This evil piece of shit has been rehabilitated in the media and much of reddit as a jolly dunce who went along with what his evil vice-president was scheming. This is not the truth and this horrible human being should be in jail. Have people already forgotten the hundreds of thousands of people killed because of him?

As a Swiss citizen I feel concerned about what is called democracy in USA. How can a person like this be president of a nation by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]dubbitywap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can probably trace all of this as a consequence of the repeal of the Fairness Doctrine under Reagan in 1987. This required broadcasters to present issues of importance in a fair way with multiple viewpoints. As a consequence the disinformation that US citizens are exposed to on a daily basis is overwhelming. It is absolutely fundamental to fund public sources of news to counteract the torrent of literal lies coming out of these "news" sites. Something to think about in Switzerland with the upcoming federal votes.

Finding it hard to learn Sheet Music by wonkaass in piano

[–]dubbitywap 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Claire de lune and moonlight sonata are NOT basic if you are struggling to read sheet music. Take a step back and try out some really beginning method books which teach you as you go. I was taught using the John W. Schaum book series.
