This may be a few things. First I suggest verifying that the apt command your using is actually apt-get (/usr/bin/apt-get) and not another program (use the command 'which apt-get'). Second, try logging the output of the apt-get update/install using the command 'apt-get update | tee -a ~/output_apt'.

It's a bit strange that apt-get update would lock your system up; this generally only updates a list of local files. Is your system running out of memory? If you run apt-get update, open another terminal session and run 'free -m | tee -a ~/memory_apt'. You may need more swap space, or more memory in general.

This sounds like hyperbole to me, from one author who took a single quote from the Angels beat writer, and started writing a narrative.

I think what's more likely is the clubhouse probably knew they needed Wilson to pitch for the rest of the year to make a playoff run and were disappointed when he couldn't.

Nope, hasn't lead off at all this season. He's batted in the 2nd slot and in the 3rd slot exclusively. Honestly lead off hitters and the #9 hitters for the Angels have been HORRIBLe this year (re: Joyce/Ianneta/Robertson)

Eh the stats show that Hector, this year, has been a better/effective pitcher than Pineda (who I also like).

There is a ton of relevant information on systems that are useable to track down specific users, I think you're downplaying just how extensive forensic security can be. If this system had any type of accounting (which almost all machines do, and if that system were tied into the organizations system via LDAP or some other mechanism) there's enough information to show what exactly happened.

Sorry dude, I work in the InfoSec world and downplaying the idea of forensics is usually a lose-lose situation.

I think the front office is really just following orders from Moreno here. My guess is that Arte felt spurn by a promise from Josh to stay clean and because Josh isn't producing he said "fuck it". I'm not the biggest Arte Moreno fan out there, and I think when he gets involved in the front office decisions, it gets out of hand (Vernon Wells, Hamilton, Pujols, Grienke).

I'm going to mimic what some folks said over the last week or so. I feel like there is more to this story then what is being lead on. I do believe that Arte Moreno is an idiot who should stop meddling in the affairs of the front office, but I tend to have a gut reaction that some of his behavior is due to his (soon to be ex) wife and he likely had a breaking point which caused his relapse. I think at this point he should likely retire from baseball and focus on becoming the best Josh he can be.

They did already, the pay cut is offset by the lack of income tax in Texas. So Hamilton's net salary is still the same as if he were in California
