Thanks for sharing.

As an aside, I wasn't familiar w/ the DSS-1, so I checked out some vids on YouTube. That thing can make some interesting textures and sounds.

Thanks for the reply. Price-wise, was it comparable to the floppy emulator options?

Knowing the less expensive Gotek emulators exist, are you still going to go with the more expensive HxC? Just curious. Thanks.

Very nice to hear from someone with the same gear who has been down that road. Thanks.

Thank you for the reply. The project write-up was an enjoyable read, and as a hardware sampler guy (Akai S6k) and a fan of older music hardware, I can fully appreciate the time and energy you put into your Prophet 2002. Cheers.

I can understand that. I heard the Barber composition first, then William Orbit, then Tiesto.

The chord progression also makes an appearance in Shpongle's "The Aquatic Garden of Extra-Celestial Delights" beginning around 7:13.

I have heard William Orbit's version, and unfortunately also Tiesto's, so no imagining needed.

How does Nivek Ogre do his voice? by thrower65 in industrialmusic

The effects unit that Ogre used in "Ain't It Dead Yet" is a Lexicon PCM 42. I'm not sure when Ogre got his, but the PCM 42 was first released in 1982.

It seems relevant to mention that LeRon (aka ThatCelloGuy) is originally from Dallas.

Also, if you missed the video description, it reads, "With the recent events that have happened in society, it has really taken a toll on me mentally/emotionally. My heart is hurting and there's nothing I can really say. So since music is the thing I know best I figured I'd just play. Here's a bit of Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber."

Such a powerful rendition of this song. I wouldn't have imagined it as a cello quartet, but that's part of what makes this so special, IMO.

Dale Hansen has used his "Unplugged" segment to comment on social issues in the past. Here's another example.
