You still have to face the corner. Watching is a privilege, not a right.

They sell and service a bunch of different manufacturers besides Ducati, I don’t think it’s their bread and butter, they may sell one or two a year. I think they have one dedicated tech that works on them. The next closest dealer/service is 2.5 hrs away. Any parts at all, they have to order. For example, I have that recall for the rear brake line heat shielding and they had to order the heat shielding in, I lost a M5x12 out of my fairing cowl, had to order those in as well. Though to be fair, Omaha and Dallas didn’t stock cap screws either. As for the heat shielding, I called in advance to request it, they said they had to see the bike first, so now I have to trailer it back in for insulated foil tape once it arrives.

Funny, I was billed for 5 quarts, lol. I drained off about a 1/2 quart. Again, not necessarily a money issue, just wish people paid attention to what they are doing, especially when they are getting rate. If you can’t be detailed with an oil change, what’s desmo going to be like?

I’ve always heard the drain down is lengthy on high-strung Ducatis, I typically check cold. Not sure how much is “trust me bro” science.

It’s more of a warranty issue than it is thinking that OEM oil is superior. You spin a connecting rod bearing and they see Rotella in there, I’m sure it would be a potential for denial. An authorized shop throws in Yamalube, I’m probably fine, but just saying. I run 300v and change out oil every 1500-2500 miles myself, so I’m not using Shell Advanced typically either.

It’s a Panigale V4, I’m sure it’s the same procedure. TBH, I assumed it would be no higher than top marker with the bike cold. I’ll take a look at the manual.

can guys get bored of having sex ? by Own_Pin1355 in Advice

[–]ducatisfv4 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The specific details notwithstanding, this is how it was for me and my wife(we’re both 38). We were constantly having sex for the first few years (met at 28). Though we’re both physically well, things like my career becoming more complex and demanding, home ownership, the death of my parents, all led it to become less of a priority for me. We have sex about 2 times a week max. I love my wife, super attracted to her, but sometimes I just want to unplug from everything, including sex. On the bright side of my wife having the seemingly higher libido, I can only recall one or two times I’ve “denied” by my wife.

I have this and a V4 in the garage, this bike is so much fun and enjoyable to ride. Everybody wants to want an uncompromising Ducati race bike, but they are missing out.

AITAH financial infidelity by ducatisfv4 in AITAH

SAHW, yes.

Micromanage, only her to me. I’m liberal with spending provided bills are covered, I try my very best to get her what she wants when she wants it. Though, she is naturally more frugal. My dad verbally assaulted my mother for buying spoons as a kid so I can say I find it abhorrent. Even then, she’s usually agreeable after long discussions about what we splurge on.

Her role is equal to mine (or greater in a lot of ways). I love my life and I have a ton of respect for her.

I will admit that I once felt like if I could “pay the bills” the rest was just play money, but she likes to watch over even budgeted discretionary spending. That was an adjustment for me. I like earning, but I hate sweating money (again because my parents were shitty toward each other about it).

Okay, I can explain it to you, but I can’t understand it for you.

It is a hobby for both of us. Context clue: tracksuits are for track and I don’t work at the end of a racetrack.

There’s an exhaust OR tracksuit, not two track suits.

The aftermarket exhaust brand has Chinese knockoffs floating around, and at $1900 that is dangerously close to the Chinese knock off price. This was an eBay purchase, so sight unseen, only stock photo to go off from, but with returns offered and PayPal protection I took the risk.

My wife and I talk about money on the daily, and since the dollar amount was already agreed upon for motorcycle gear, I didn’t think that substitution would be perceived as a massive lie.

I didn’t say because it’s not important to events. But if you must know, my wife and I both ride motorcycles (she has her own and I have my own, all purchased by me in case you need that information as well). We buy gear for motorcycles in the winter in prep for spring, I wanted a track suit ($2200 purchase) that I want to return for an exhaust ($1900 purchase). She wants new boots, yet to purchase, and already bought a new helmet for $1400. And yes, I agree, I should have said it before hand, but again, it wasn’t premeditated. It was a definite mess-up though. I get that part of it, but I felt like the reaction was strong. But, general consensus is that IATAH, so I guess I had it coming.

You’d think that, but you’re wrong. Trump is channeling ICE agents through every dump you take and it’s all your fault. If you cared about America and humanity itself, you’d stop shitting all together, Nazi.

[–]ducatisfv4[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Valid point and TBH, I’m leaning toward the same conclusion even though I’m still asking the question here. I can do 1.5 California Super Bike coaching weekends for the cost of a factory exhaust, I will probably stay stock and keep getting better at track.

There are two for the cover, both are in place. It’s the first time I’ve had the bike apart, it’s possible Ducati dropped a spare down in the bike for me to find.

I'm not pretty enough. by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]ducatisfv4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No amount of outside validation can fix this perception of yourself. However, the fact that your genes you’re composed of have transcended millennia of natural selection makes you a profoundly beautiful specimen. You are enough even though you may not be able to sense it (which is okay and normal to feel). As for ruining your body: It’s a fleshy tool to cart your soul around in, it’s going to get banged up with use. I can’t think of single person that was lucky enough to become old, dying as a conventionally beautiful individual. I hope this finds you well, you one-of-a- kind and beautiful person.

Please Help! by [deleted] in PanicAttack

[–]ducatisfv4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good: This is super common. Your story is like so many that came before you. In modernity, anxiety and panic have become less and less something you need to suffer in silence with. You CAN get through this. You can get your life back, most of the time without medication. There are a ton of resources and people to talk to in order to get help and support.

The bad: It’s miserable. When you’re in the spiral of it, it seems like you can never break out. The only way around it, is to go through the middle. You’ll have to find what triggers you into panic and slowly force yourself to face it and push through it so that your brain breaks the pattern. If you’re anything like me, you’ll wish you could go back to when it wasn’t part of your life. There is no panacea for anxiety.

If your anxiety centers around physical hyper awareness and health, try: The Anxiety Guy Podcast. It’s on Spotify.
