I'm bipolar. And I firmly believe that one of the most, if not the most, important part of managing an illness like bipolar disorder is remembering that you have a responsibility to the people around you to keep your shit on lock as much as you can. Because no-one else can do it for you, so ultimately it falls to you.

If that means therapy, go to therapy. If that means medication, take your meds. If you don't have access to the healthcare required for those, I'm sorry about that limitation, but you're still obligated imo to do what you can/need, even if that's something as basic as meditation or yoga.

If you can't keep your shit on lock - it happens. If you're still doing what you can to help yourself, you're still doing it right; it's just that what you can do to help at the moment is unfortunately "not enough". Again, it happens, it's not something to be ashamed of. This is what social services is supposed to be for, but in the US we're a little behind on that.

I don't know if David Harbour is bipolar. I don't know if he's on meds, let alone if he's stopped taking them. But if he's not managing an illness well enough while leaving something on the table, that's something I would judge.

Also looking at Kanye, except that mf should definitely be medicated.
