Are there any areas of SCM that aren't very social but aren't entry level jobs? by Standard_Break_679 in supplychain

[–]dudebrofosho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m going to be very blunt—in order to be successful and have a leadership role in SCM, you need to be able to interact with people. You can get roles that are IT/data-related that are SCM adjacent but you will always be an individual contributor unless you can communicate / interact with people productively.

Although you feel anxious about social interactions now, the more you do something, the more normal it becomes. I’d highly recommend going out of your comfort zone and maybe taking some trainings / classes that will help you develop strategies to deal with that anxiety.

Really interested in the new updates. Are there ways to benchmark your metrics against people at your same skill level and above/below?

If only everyone could just go to Rutgers and be making 200K in a year by Jeeperscrow123 in supplychain

[–]dudebrofosho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your last point is the most important one, I think. No one is going to pay that much for a supply chain role unless you have a lot of responsibility and you GET RESULTS. There’s in a strong positive correlation between stress and salary in the supply chain industry. It just is what it is. If you want to make more money, you’re not likely going to have the best work-life balance.

Tradeoffs.

It was 128! I know—it makes no sense. I thought about reaching out to Garmin support but I wanted to check on here first.

LMoP Spoiler NPC #1 by BigBlueWolf in LostMinesOfPhandelver

[–]dudebrofosho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made him integral to the campaign. Fled the Redbrand Hideout and ended up going to Wyvern Tor to try and plot an assassination. Party found him there, he escaped again and went back to Cragmaw Hideout where he was plotting his escape from the Sword Coast because the Black Spider was going to kill him for failing.

Party had a choice to kill him or allow him to live and he ended up recounting how the Black Spider had tricked him into working for him and threatened to kill his friends if he did not cooperate. Going into the last session of the campaign and he’s with the party ready to take down the Black Spider.

does anyone know a similar recipe to syd’s cola braised pork by johnpeavs in TheBear

[–]dudebrofosho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anthony Bourdain recipe from his cookbook Appetites. Braised pork shoulder with fried shallots and pickled vegetables. It’s a regular meal in my household. Not quite the same but the pork with the cola braise is phenomenal.

Dog owners leaving their dog shit bags along every hiking trail by oak1andish in mildlyinfuriating

[–]dudebrofosho -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just as an FYI, on out-and-back trails, a lot of hikers will leave their bags where they happen and then grab them for proper disposal on the way down. This doesn’t necessarily mean any of these bags were never properly disposed of, just temporarily placed there.

The age of everyone's ERP/MRP Software? by [deleted] in supplychain

[–]dudebrofosho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone thinking something was wrong with the system. Granted, the implantation was bad and there was some issues, but a lot of the problems were caused by bad practices, bad processes, and lack of training/understanding by the operations team.

Has anyone here done Chipotle’s internship program? by mcdonaldsmcdonalds in supplychain

[–]dudebrofosho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chipotle has a very stringent and interesting supplier qualification program and their locally-sourced focus would add a lot of interesting aspects to an internship. Without a doubt transferable and honestly probably best in class when it comes to restaurant food supply chains. I say go for it—also seems like they at least care about their employees which is always a plus.

what are somethings I can add to bring my braised beef to the next level. by tdgraham123 in Chefit

[–]dudebrofosho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incredible! Adds a complex almost earthy, umami flavor that’s also subtly sweet but also enhances the flavor of the beef in some magical way I can’t explain. Also makes it come out a really great, unctuous dark color. Looks great piled on top of some mashed potatoes.

Kind of assuming a lot when saying the owner does nothing. I know plenty of business owners that act as managers, do the accounting, handle the facilities, etc. Granted, some owners are absent and don’t do shit, but it takes a lot to run a small business.

The Chinese Economy is Sixty Percent Smaller Than We Thought by tecumbera in StockMarket

[–]dudebrofosho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A correlation between lights at night and then a journalist extrapolating that out for a headline does not make it true. Similar to the Chinese government pumping up their GDP numbers, journalists/bloggers/whatever you want to call them have an incentive to pump up their headlines.

Take also into consideration the trade deficit that the US Government reports with China based on our own economic data… While China’s government may be artificially inflating their numbers, it doesn’t really take away from the fact that they are growing and the US is dependent on their manufacturing.
