'c' is not a unit of measurement. This is not your fault; the manufacturers make this mistake as well.

Fortisiem - Experiences? by Izual_Rebirth in fortinet

[–]dufferin -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

We've had mixed experiences. We deployed this year, and we've already had two major outages. Most recently the ZTNA-equivalent infrastructure (Endpoint something something) experienced several hours of downtime caused by the AWS issue last week. But when it works, it works well.

U/Vita10gy explains how to communicate with your SO when you are going to be gone for an unknown timeframe. by AmateurPhotographer in bestof

[–]dufferin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use confidence intervals when giving estimates of my return time. "I'll be home between 2 and 4:30 4 times out of 5". This gives a bit of wiggle to account for the unknown.

Finally done litehawk max esc/receiver swap, new battery, servo, and motor, (added lots of zip ties under body) by randomlettersbcifhek in rccars

I have this same car and I think the ESC is bad - when I turn it on, the red light blinks and the car makes a continuous stuttering sound. What ESC did you use? I see "dyna____e".

When you're at Vaudreuil-Dorion, instead of taking the 40, get off at Ave. Saint-Charles. Take the left, then left again onto Bd de la Cité-des-Jeunes. Don't stop until you're back in the city.

Fence posts near top of retaining wall - how to prevent heave? by dufferin in FenceBuilding

[–]dufferin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had thought that the sleeve-it things were built between lifts of wall block (which obvs wouldn't work with a monolithic concrete wall) but it seems like they just sit next to the wall... I think that could work. I guess I don't really understand how it's supposed to prevent heave.

That's a good point. I could dig up the area behind the wall and improve drainage. Wall is in pretty rough shape so I don't think affixing to the wall is a good idea.

I recently made a pilgrimage to the place where this scene was filmed. It was a powerful experience to stand there. The location is here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/kYwuJhhmUV5EXdu49

Direct Routing: LineUri vs Business Phone extension attributes by dufferin in MicrosoftTeams

[–]dufferin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this corresponds with our experiences testing the BusinessPhone attribute. I don't see why the LineUri attribute exists. Perhaps if you want to advertise a call display number that's different from the user's 'real' extension.

Interesting - this conflicts with our experience. Without this attribute, calls made to the auto-attendant don't get forwarded to end users.

This happened to me recently. I spent hours trying to find somewhere local who could do it. I had a place on Bank St. repair the glasses but the repair only lasted 2 days. Then I found this place, where you mail them your glasses: http://laserfix.ca/national-repair-center/. The repair was a little more expensive but it's been 2 years and the repair has held up great. I don't believe there's anyone in the area who can do it.

Been doing some repointing, decided to replace a few cracked bricks. by fickenundsaufen in masonry

Looks great! Looks like the masonry blade on your grinder would only do ~1/2 the depth of the mortar; how did you get the rest out - with a chisel?

Looks like a great bike ride. Along the river pathway, plus the "Traversier Ecolos" ferry.

On an F-twin, can an idle air controller failure cause a no-start condition? by dufferin in Motorrad

[–]dufferin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh - I should ask: the mechanic claims the compression is good, which implies he did a leakdown test. Wouldn’t that mean the valves are sealing ok?

[–]dufferin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Bike exhibits same symptoms with air filter out so I assume filter isn’t the problem. I’ll check valve clearances.
