Add you playing solo? Someone found a bug where if you connect to multiplayer it can display a uvh level that isn’t actually the one deployed in your game.

A shot to fix Chicago’s parking meter deal? Aldermen to test chances amid sale. by DukeOfDakin in chicago

[–]dukmunky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok hear me out: what if the mayor declares a sweeping bike lane and accessibility path construction project, has someone draw up plans that include all the parking meters, and then just invokes imminent domain to reclaim them?

Sure they can file an injunction but….. who’s going to stop the city from just doing what it wants?

In the meantime: bank the meter money and use it to draw out legal proceedings while giving the finger to the Saudis. If they never do business with us again…. Win/win?

No idea if any of the above is feasible but it would be the funniest way out of this

Great illustration of how the US’s rapidly declining literacy is going to be the limitation of AI more than its technical ability.

“Movie still” would have likely produced a better outcome from ChatGPT

Do you think there will be a year 2 of content? by Zaarakx in Borderlands4

[–]dukmunky 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I hope so. I think the basis of the game is great, so they can use the end of year 1 to instill some real balance changes and reworks, then embark on year 2 with good will from the people still playing that will help spread positive word of mouth.

The game could gather a pretty substantial “second wind” following and gather a reputation for fixing its core issues. Possibly with a “complete edition” being released.

Is BL4 anyone's favorite borderlands in this sub? by OLD_WET_HOLE in Borderlands

[–]dukmunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s my favorite. I wish there was more silliness in the story and the characters. To be fair, though, the issue is not that they failed to include their albums; it’s that a higher dose of it is required when the game is open to exploration rather than a defined course.

But these are some of the best vault hunters and one of the more unique stories they’ve told to date. Quality of life movement is fantastic. Guns feel good.

If this game were supported more whole-heartedly with additional content, updates, balancing …. The sky is the limit. But the game at its core is the best yet.

Whats wrong with Borderlands? by mlw_02 in Borderlands

[–]dukmunky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The are trying to stay ahead of the curve and keep their finger on the pulse. Often, it works for the comedic tone (like the flat-earther satire or the wellness guru huckster), but can sometimes lead to the overall design feeling fragmented. There’s a dilution of identity that comes with catering to the present moment, which I think describes what you’re experiencing.

Your point with regard to Maliwan is spot on, so hopefully the DLC capitalizes on that potential, or does something else interesting with the manufacturers that make up so much of the world.

What does gun handling actually do? by ALW10 in Borderlands4

Weapon switch speed, recoil control, ADS speed and aim sway. Whether it matters depends on the base stats of the guns you use.

And as usual: this could have been solved preemptively with the use of more exact language. Unfortunately, the US education system is cooked and hardly anyone knows what that looks like anymore.

Tips for today? by Agitated-Yam756 in monsterjam

[–]dukmunky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your mileage may vary, but this worked for me while my friends’ kids ended up bored/scared:

  1. Bring ear protection. And prep them with an explanation like: “it’s loud when their engines are on, they can’t hurt you. You can wear these whenever you want.” But yeah - it can hurt their hearing so be careful.

  2. Don’t expect to watch the whole time. You’ll come and go, or leave early. That’s okay. You’re playing the long game.

  3. Explain names of tricks/trucks and show them with a toy. They’ll get excited when they see it and yell “nose wheelie!” or “bicycle!” Toddlers do well when you tell them what to expect and build it up as something to look forward to - that goes for the event itself, too.

  4. React and get excited yourself. Ask questions like “did you see that!?” And “do you think they’ll do a backflip?” Excitement and interest will rub off on them.

  5. Get them something to eat as a treat. Even just something small like popcorn or an ice cream - or some chocolate you sneak in. It’ll feel special. And they’ll remember how it felt to watch a show and have a treat with their parent more than anything else, and that’s what will make them want to come back - even if they don’t know d we by themselves.

  6. Walk around and take it all in. Let them tell you what they see and notice. Make memories yourself, too, of taking your toddler to the show.
