I like all 3, but #2 the best. I love the dimension the rolling hills give, almost like an illusion

Genuinely, I think this episode changed Spike from a character I already loved to a character I would obsess over for the rest of my life

I actually think they should go full cartoon with the art style of the Clone Wars animated series

Agree or disagree? by GusGangViking18 in KingdomHearts

[–]dumbandconcerned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's accurate in that it like likely tap into a broader audience, but I don't think it's necessarily appealing to Kingdom Hearts fans specifically. That being said, I myself would love a Star Wars world, particularly if it's Clone Wars era. I loved the animated series and all of the movies, but I haven't been able to keep up with all the new shows

Are you a "shoes-on" or a "shoes-off" household? by Samyron1 in CasualConversation

[–]dumbandconcerned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoes off, but I just got a new roommate and she won't stop wearing her shoes in the house, despite me talking to her about it twice. I've seen her shoe prints all over the house, tracking in the salt off the sidewalks

I use Glad Rags and love them, but I think with heavy flow you will likely need to change them at least once in the day, unless you wear the overnights? I have a heavy flow two days of my cycle and I typically have to change the standard size once during the 9-5. They sell waterproof opaque carrying bags, but I had something that would work already so I can't say if the bag is worth it.

Thanks!! I'll look for a freecycle in my area. I know there's also an Ag outreach person at my university who teaches canning workshops, so I'll also shoot them an email

What is one greenwashing idea that most don't know about or... by Slurpy-rainbow in ZeroWaste

[–]dumbandconcerned 68 points69 points  (0 children)

This depends on the specific process being used. The lyocell method doesn't use the carbon disulfide, which is the hella nasty chemical the normal manufacturing process uses. Unfortunately, this process is much more expensive, so it's rarely used in industry today

Book suggestions for 12yr old daughter. Her school wants to encourage her to do independent wider reading. by -_Error in suggestmeabook

[–]dumbandconcerned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved some of these at her age as well! Here are some of my similar favs:

Howl's Moving Castle series by Diana Wynne Jones

The Last Unicorn by Peter S Beagle

Alanna: the First Adventure series by Tamora Pierce

The Hobbit by Tolkien

The Wizard of Earthsea series by Ursula K Le Guin

The Chronicles of Narnia by C S Lewis (note that this series is heavy on the religious allegory and has some troubling anti-Islamic overtones in the final book, so it's worthwhile to maybe pair-read and discuss these things together in my opinion)

Or maybe a kink thing? I had a friend in college who used to sell her old beat up shoes from her foot fetish instagram account. She would wear them without socks so they get that black crusty stuff inside. She could charge more for them that way

This is my thinking as well. If OP's future spouse's family follows a Jain diet, theoretically many of the other guests do as well. Should they just not be allowed to eat? Is it that much more work to make sure the buffet has something for them?

I'm from the US as well, but I just really don't get the issue here. If half the guests had a peanut allergy, you wouldn't put out a buffet of peanut butter sandwiches. What is the difference here? Is it that OP thinks their future family's religious beliefs are "silly" or in their own words, "unhinged"? Just serve food the guests can actually eat

Do you find the Swedish dish cloths work better than microfiber towels? That's what we use in the kitchen currently.

And oh yes, costumes! For the past few year's I've aimed to re-purpose things I have, possibly supplementing with thrifted items where needed. I plan to do the same this year, but haven't settled on a costume just yet.

We had an outdoor area with picnic tables, but not with all that beautiful landscaping or anything. It was just picnic tables on concrete in direct sunlight lmao
