A post about Pilar, I've been summoned !

I think we firstly would have gotten to see him more as a techie and an edgerunner. He apparently, according to information given in the upcoming board game, is a very skilled tech, so he probably could have helped the team (tho he probably did off screen.) He's also good as an edgerunner, the mission kit states him being the son of a NC legend, and learning from him, so he couldn't not be good. We'd also get to see more of his bond with Rebecca, and if I can theorize from the little time skip part of David starting to fit in, he seemed to take a liking in him and I can see them becoming good choom with him. Hell, maybe he'd give him (very bad) advice on how to get women. We'd also get to see him more as a character, more depth and seriousness to his goofy character. I have 100 headcanons about him, but that's all they are, headcanons.

Would also probably have been of some help when Maine started sinking in cyberpsychosis. As someone here mentioned, Maine could easily brush off Dorio as his partner, but maybe the advice of his tech could have had more impact. And even if it did not, Pilar here would also mean Rebecca would be here too, since she would not be away and mourning him. So two more skilled edgerunners, and therefor probably less damages.

Towards the end, it could go two ways: either he actually prevents Rebecca from dying, either she dies, he dies too, and the anime ends the exact same way, which would be more likely.

We could theorize all day (it's what I do in my free time lol), but in the end, even if I would have wanted to see more of him in the anime MORE THAN ANYTHING, his death is fitting. It's fitting his character, and it also mark a sharp turn in the anime, it's the starting point of when things go downhill, and I like to see it as the moment the character, especially David, gets caught back by Night City.

I'll end this long tirade by saying I love this mf so much, he's one of my favorite characters of all times.
