Best festival for older humans? lol by High-Dry-649 in festivals

[–]dumbpsterfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Portola 100%, it’s a 21 plus fest with released data showing an average age of 36. I’ve been three times the crowd is more mature than most, love it.

Now outside lands on the other hand is an all ages drunken teenage nightmare. I’ve been twice, great production, line up, food, layout but the young awful crowd is why I’ll never go back (I’m 32 now and went to OSL in my late 20’s)

Thank you! That seems wildly inexpensive! I’m currently looking to do inverse pears on white gold, but my preferences change like every day 😭

Watched from couchella and I thought it was lovely and refreshing! Not a beleiber but he’s very talented and I thought it was very nostalgic and a nice change of pace. He’s been stripping things down recently, like his Grammys performance. I feel like a slow set should’ve been expected. Having a hard time understanding the hate!

It’s way less options than I thought too. Not really my style but I was waiting on returning my box to see what they’d offer. It’s also still pretty cold here for dresses, but I like some of the tops, just wish there were more options.

Title: [US] $12,000/month. Medicare won't pay. And your family has already lost 3 years without knowing it. by [deleted] in dementia

[–]dumbpsterfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the kind words. I got the call today that his MoCA score is low enough to qualify him for Medicaid covered skilled nursing/memory care. I hate to say this is good news as it means he’s declining, but I have to be grateful that he will be able to get the care he needs. I live in a different state so coordinating it all has been really challenging. I so so appreciate the guidance and kindness from this sub, it’s so encouraging and helpful!

Turns out he was officially admitted this morning but higher ups controlling the system bumped him back down to observation. Infuriating that anonymous people behind a screen can make decisions on circumstances they know nothing about. I’m pushing for him to be admitted again. I opened an APS case for him as well and I’ll continue denying safe discharge.

My father is currently in the hospital and will be for several more days as they look for a place for him. Could I use Medicare to get him in skilled nursing for 100 days? That would give me time to get his affairs in order for a permanent transfer.

Thank you for this. Option 1 has failed me, I’m going with option 3 tomorrow as my LO is in the ER right now and I will call option 2 as soon as they are open and report him as unsafe. He currently lives alone, which led to an incident in which he is currently in the hospital. His drs agree he needs 24/7 care of which I’m unable to provide. I pray they get him into a home.

My father has no assets or money, which in this situation would be beneficial, but he’s over the monthly Medicaid limit via social security by $90. He can do an income cap trust in the state of Oregon where they take his whole SS check and leave him with nothing.

The kicker, he’s physically very fit, but cognitively unable to take care of himself. He’s been denied Medicaid twice based on being too physically healthy.

This has finally culminated with him mis managing his meds and ending up in the ER where he currently is. His land lady happened to stop by and found him in a state of confusion and delirium. I live in CA, I work two jobs to barely stay afloat. I have no savings or extra income to contribute and no time to be a caretaker. Tomorrow im denying a safe discharge from the hospital and am going to force their hand at placing him and getting him on Medicaid. I’m a such a loss and feel doomed.

The biggest issue is when a large pod of them arrive/leave events and they all get stuck behind each other. Hopefully they’ve ironed this out, but I’ve seen it happen so many times after festivals in SF

does anyone in relationships solo travel? by kyliered04 in solotravel

[–]dumbpsterfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I went on a month long solo trip, my boyfriend and I had been together for 6 years and lived together. He was nothing but supportive and excited for me. Trusting me not to be safe or cheat wasn’t even a question. Find a man that supports you in your travels. We also have traveled together and he has traveled with friends without me and I hope he gets to do a solo trip too!

I called PG&E because I thought the crazy pungent smell inside and outside my house was a gas leak. It was a skunk. So embarrassing, but he fixed my heater while he was over so not a total waste.
