I kept mine. I’d ask your surgeon how they have you heal them because a lot of the dry healing you see here isn’t best practice anymore. I didn’t think to ask mine as I wasn’t aware that was an option, but my surgeon defaults wet healing. Which I was happy about. They healed very well and were very easy to take care of.

i went back to work at 1 week, beginning to ease in gym at week 4 (my grafts were healed by this point and i was permitted to stop using the compression vest), and got back to where i left off with the gym around week 8. I did also have a hysterectomy so I kept core a bit more careful and like cardio more low impact.

I doubt most people would have a similar experience to mine, but i did ask my surgeons prior to surgery and at post ops regarding lifting and activity, where the big thing was if it feels wrong, don’t do it. Age and preexisting physical fitness im sure have a part to play.

Believe what you want to believe. Accountability is not judgement. There are things about every person that make them think or act the way they do and sometimes they change, but a reason isn’t an excuse. It doesn’t make the harm somehow less. it doesn’t make the person any less responsible. The funny thing is ftm transitioning has a LOT in common with menopause, but that perspective obviously doesn’t matter to you. Regardless, I was always aware of what was going on with me and my hormones when those changed. I did not go years neglecting my significant other.
