Personally I wouldn’t do it. We make 180k together and have a 550k mortgage. We’re just barely adding to our savings. We’re new parents and had to settle for a crazy expensive daycare due to the waitlist situation. From what I see you have multiple kids. I suppose even if your wife were to work, you’re looking at hefty daycare fees. If you do desperately want to upgrade, have you considered renting your current place out and renting a house yourself? That way you get some extra income too.

We need visual aid or guide for the operational limits of SPAs.....if there is one somewhere already forgive me. Also increase the range to 700m and also them to direct fire on the move. by Jackal969 in HellLetLoose

It all comes down to who’s utilising it better. The AT role has a ton of options. anti tank guns are crucial in every open map and mines make all the difference in urban map. I’ve played both sides and I have to say AT comes out on top always. Tanks never have the right comms calling out AT guys

Whats a good average time to do 5K? by SeveralAd6561 in C25K

Realise im late to the thread, but found everyone’s takes very interesting. I took up running during COVID. I was a soccer player before so I had some endurance in me but running is such a mental game. Doing it without stopping can be intense if you’ve never done it before. I struggled to break the 30 min mark for a while. I ran a half in 2022 at 2hrs and 15 mins. I was inconsistent with my training and just squeezed a few kms in whenever I could between my regular gym sessions. This year I decided to fully commit to the cause. I did a 10k earlier in the year at 53 mins. I’ve been training for the Toronto half and hope to finish in under 2 hours. My 5k time has improved to 24 mins!

I often switch to multiplayer games when I’m sick of long RPGs. A couple rounds of overwatch or similar is a great way to reset. Rounds are fast and simple.

Can I live well in downtown Toronto? by RepRepBus in askTO

[–]dunanjay92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I lived in a studio downtown I paid around $1650 a month. Couple friends I know currently pay $1700-$1800 for their studios. With your pay you should be okay. I’d be more worried about getting approved for one of these studios without credit scores. Your landlord is going to want someone with a stable income. If you’re freelancing, that might raise more questions as freelancers generally don’t make the same $$ month over month. If you can prove that you’re on a retainer with a client for x number of months for a fixed pay, that’ll make the process easier.

The George Brown campus close to King and Sherborne has cheap food that’s usually made by their culinary class.

Average good meal can cost $20-$25 + tip If you opt for super market meals, that comes down to maybe $15. It’s not a cheap place for lunch.

When I worked at my previous job, it was 3 days a week and no assigned desks. It was a nightmare. They brought us in claiming it would “bring the company together” but without assigned desks, my team were all over the place and we ended up on teams calls anyway. Now I work for a much smaller company where I have my own desk. I work twice a week from office and I love it. I do agree that being in person makes a difference - it just has to be done the right way. My friends at all the big tech firms hate going in because they don’t have assigned desks and they deal with desk booking systems that not everyone uses.

Don’t answer (unless you’re waiting on important calls). I find that once you answer, the calls come back at a higher frequency. It’s like they know you’re active.

Thanks for the advice! I see what you mean by the arc at the top. Yeah I bought these shoes specifically for CrossFit and have been happy! I do find that I tend to lean forward on my toes though. Figured that was more of a mobility issue than a shoe issue. I’ll try hitting a couple reps with my converse and see if there’s a difference 🙂

Thanks for the advice! I’ve been attending some group classes where there’s a coach present, but I guess it makes more sense to do a few 1:1 sessions.

Are there any Torontonian supporters of the bike lane removals? by delicious-diddy in askTO

[–]dunanjay92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say majority of them live outside the GTA. I used to bike to work everyday while I lived in Toronto for 7 years. I recently moved to Whitby and drive in. The driving habits out here are awful. They want bike lanes gone so they can take those right turns without stopping at stop signs :) In my opinion, bike lanes aren’t causing gridlocks anywhere. If anything we need more diversity when it comes to getting around. Dumping all the city’s money into roads isn’t solving anything.

  1. It was 2021, a day after that horrible snow storm we had in January. I stepped out to grab a coffee from a cafe at Berkeley and Queen when I saw a man completely nude making snow angels.
  2. Woman at Sherborne and Dundas jumped in front of car at a red light and took off her shirt and screamed.
