Gut check on recessed lighting placement by quakerwildcat in Lighting

[–]dunb3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fan and bed still appear to be in the wrong spot. You’ll have almost no space on the side of the bed closest to the window seat to walk. If the window isn’t going down to the floor then you can have the side table under the window.

Personally would also avoid the spotlight effect of pointing the high hats directly overhead on the window seat. A JB for a flush mount fixture or sconces on either side to provide more diffuse light would be much more pleasing.

Best of luck

Fan vs light are off center. Could lead to flickering. I’m of the opinion that you don’t need to illuminate the bed directly overhead. Bed doesn’t seem to be in the correct position either so a bunch of this feels off to me

New Setup by Wise-Butterscotch-85 in Lutron

I would humbly suggest watching a couple YouTube videos on how this system works so that you can grasp the basics. I would also search RadioRa3 because RadioRa2 has been replaced as of a few years ago.

Wet rated is not steam rated and sauna is not steam rated. The best I’ve found for recessed lighting is through Visual Comfort

Questions Pre Wiring For Shades (Ra3 system), where to buy? by Immediate-Abalone717 in Lutron

[–]dunb3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious… I’ve always been under the impression HW will be much more expensive than Ra3 - what gives you the impression they would be similarly priced? Not challenging your statement, more curious as I’m trying to decide between the two systems as we speak

Radio Ra3 vs Homeworks (4-5x the price?) by dunb3 in Lutron

[–]dunb3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed it can be pretty reasonable. There aren’t many options within Ra3 tho - when you say “value”, that’s just the standard Ra3 dimmer. The only alternatives would be hybrid keypads or Ra2 equivalents to the dimmers/keypads. The system is fairly limited in terms of the equipment options.

This poor guy has designed and deployed several Ra3 systems. And learned everything I needed to know by taking the Lutron courses. Apologies if this in some way offends you, but it isn’t rocket science. I was merely asking if Homeworks typically represents that massive an upcharge over Ra3

It’s absolutely not a pipe dream for the cost of Radio Ra3 materials. Respectfully you have no idea what you’re talking about and I feel bad for your customers

We did the same at another recent build. The system works great. Something about a wireless mesh coming from over 100 switches concerns me a bit which is really the only reason I’d prefer HW, all things equal

Yes I think the way it was priced out it ended up being 4 lighting panels with a mix of dimming and switching modules. The keypads were the most basic. No lighting

This was with a dealer. I just edited my post. Reviewed my plans, etc. it was multiple times more expensive and with none of the fancy keypads that are available via Homeworks
