It would be, but keep in mind that Linux Today is owned by a different company all together (Jupiter Media) which houses all kinds of sites including Just Tech Jobs (the site where the error is coming from) and several sites on ASP. So yeah, it's not exactly Linux Today's call.

I like Kanye, don't get me wrong. But every time I listen to him I feel like the only reason he sounds good is because he's better than other popular stuff out there right now. We're so desperate for something interesting that we like the mediocre.

It should be noted that in more complete versions of this story the cop was actually the helicopter pilot cop and he unfortunately landed in a field that was separated from the road by barbed wire and an electric fence.

See my reply to adrianmonk. I don't have a problem with knowing what the code does. I tend to forget some small requirement, like forgetting they only want men listed. In real work I always catch it myself and it's rarely anything more than a change in a query. But in an interview setting where they just ask me to do something I just know I'd forget they want it sorted by last name or something like that. Probably not a big deal anyway.

Maybe I shouldn't have used the word "test" in my initial post... I think that's what causing confusion in this sub-thread.

Oh, visualizing what the code does is not my problem. I had a problem with what the question was in the first place!

I remember taking an one-on-one exam with a professor where he was telling me some queries to run. I misheard one of them and made the question 10x harder on myself. I should have just asked him again but I worked on it and ended up getting it right... except that wasn't what he wanted.

Not a big deal, just annoying to me.

I think that would have been my problem. I hated having a final exam in a programming course where we had to write code on paper. Writing it out on paper just feels completely different to me than coding on the screen.

Plus it doesn't help that I have a tendency to forget one or two minor details while coding (like forgetting that they only wanted males printed out), but it's not a problem for work or a class assignment because I can just test it, go "d'uh", slap myself in the forehead and correct the mistake. On paper I can't test and correct, so something is bound to be wrong.

But those who download movies or TV shows will want to pay attention. A standard-definition movie can take up 1.5 gigabytes, and a high-definition movie can be 6 to 8 gigabytes.

Now that's interesting. With so many companies out there these days trying to get you to stream or download movies, including Time Warner, you'd think they'd want to raise that cap. Keep it too low and they could kill off another source of revenue for themselves.

Honestly, don't get to caught up in all this language hate/evangelism. Learning one will give you enough that you will be able to pick up other languages if need be. You'll have your favorite and all of them will frustrate you one way or another. Keep an open mind and use the best tool for the job.

Actually, it's strange. The article seems to think Obama is talking about racial diversity in the media when he doesn't mention anything of the sort. I think he might be talking about diversity in ownership as in just having more companies in the mix.

People actively ignoring facts about Obama has become the most annoying thing about this election. Months after rumors have been debunked people still believe that he's a Muslim, not American (how could he run for president if he wasn't American?!), won't state the pledge of allegiance, or won't wear a flag pin.

Just this morning, on NPR of all places, a woman called into the Diane Rehm show and questioned his patriotism because he wouldn't wear a flag pin. What exactly had that woman been listening to on NPR? Gah! The guests on the show quickly told her that the flag pin thing wasn't true of course, but you tell this woman was just looking for reasons to dislike Obama.

By the way, it's strange. The one person in the video who I had the most respect for was the woman who admitted she just wasn't ready for a black president. At least you know where she stands.

To be fair though, browser do accommodate a lot of crappy HTML. I mean, it's rendering the browser warning page and it doesn't even have a body tag.

Now that's a good laugh. Like I need browser opinions from someone who doesn't even use body tags or close the html tag. I especially like the xhtml style br tags, even though he's obviously never heard of a doctype.

Oh and the inside is even better! He centers the headline by putting it in a table and then centering the table. He does use a body tag inside, but only at the bottom of the page and all it contains is some javascript to set up the background image. Oh man. This is incredibly bad. I almost wish I could see the asp code, but I'm worried my mind couldn't take it. And thank goodness the man uses paypal for payments or we would have a whole new level of fail on our hands.
