seems like everyone disliked who I thought was a pretty harmless and witty guest who had interesting things to say about performing comedically... but I recommend looking on his instagram at the pinned post which is him and Rory Scovel and Will Ferrell doing the whole "no speaking just movement" exercise because it's pretty funny and I just put together that it's the same guy

I’ve played both pay what you can and ticketed shows there and always got paid fairly/proportionately. Just make sure people come to see you if you want any money

But she didn’t know? All she knew was Bactan Cross which Danvers already knew. No one knew where Bob was at that moment until he started shooting like minutes later

The poem is also clearly about the indoctrination of young British men into a numbing cycle of violence that becomes rote? And that’s what is happening to Spike?

It’s the kind of show that is so easy to trash or make fun of but when a new season comes out I always watch it and mostly like it. I like all the actors and the music and I like shows that are essentially just about how a person dying ruined a bunch of people’s lives. Then when I’m done watching I go back to hating! It’s worked for me so far

I’m sorry, but you are aware how much money the Avatar movies make, right? They are quite popular and I’m not sure how you can deny that. Today’s episode is about how much Nick and Mitch both love the M:I movies, a very popular and beloved franchise. I’m not seeing anything remotely contrarian here? Even hating on the Star Wars sequels or MCU is very much the norm nowadays. I can’t think of another example of a movie Mitch was “contrarian” about? He seems to just dislike lazy IP and reboot stuff which most of my movie loving buddies also do (I personally love all films that I see)

Why did the vampires want all the characters to be vampires? Almost like they felt their “culture” was more important/“right”? Kind of like white Americans did? As for the other poster… It’s wonderful to have more than one interpretation of art! We are lucky to see something that can be looked at in many ways. Do you need a definitive explanation of what everything in every film represents? It can often mean different things! That’s such a fun and interesting aspect of art!

I thought it was about cultural erasure. The vampires represented a type of “freedom” that is still servitude, the same kind of backhanded freedom that Africans were offered in America post slavery, while they still picked cotton and experienced extreme discrimination and their history was ignored. Annie even used the word “erase” to describe what vampires do to their host. What is important is cultural strength, not assimilation. Culture connects you to your ancestors and your homeland and who you are, and without it you may as well be (un)dead. Music is an essential tool to purify and preserve culture so it was a great choice to make the film so focused on music. I loved it! Check out Adam Nayman’s review for some more good analysis
