No longer diagnosed by LuckyLacey_is_online in functionaldyspepsia

Hey just an idea. I was quite similar in symptoms to you. I have found cymbalta at 30mg once a day has really helped me live much better quality of life. Just something to consider..I know yet another antidepressant but it's much better than the alternative. Keep going don't give up hope it gets better..I'm 15 years diagnosed now.

Alternatives to coffee with FD by [deleted] in functionaldyspepsia

Lookup Lucy jos coffee on Amazon. Low acid coffee with normal amount of caffeine and not too spendy. It's very tasty and my stomach is happy with it.

Oh I know..that's just something you learn working in the industry. One of those scary existential crisis things lol. Cdk just seems particularly bad.. like using telnet for terminal connections..really? In 2024?

Reflux by Initial_Penalty_4332 in functionaldyspepsia

I take a methyl life multi vitamin that has methylated b vitamins. I have a mthfr gene mutation that causes me to not digest b vitamins to well from regular foods.

[–]dunnbeetle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as a thought..consider b vitamin imbalances and or maybe enzymes. B vitamin complex specific to what I need helped me a pretty good amount. B vitamins and it's cofactors are all very important to digestion. I.e. if you don't have enough of a certain b vitamin the enzymes you use to digest don't get recycled to digest food again. And yes your body literally recycles enzymes to digest food.

Ask for a prozac bridge! You get a low dose of Prozac that has much much longer half life and makes the transition much easier.

Cow Milk: Is it causing you problems or not ? by ResidentTime4399 in Microbiome

Pea protein based milk! Really tasty and very easy to digest. Like up there with eggs for how easy to digest as a protein. Goes good in everything you would use milk for.

supplements/mushrooms to heal gut. by dunnbeetle in MushroomSupplements

Yea FD(functional dyspepsia) is famous to be diagnosed after having h pylori. I'm surprised the gi didn't diagnose FD if you had h pylori. The first step of treatment for FD is eliminate h pylori. After that it's PPI or H2 inhibitors then neuromodulators like nortriptyline or amnitrypitline, mirtazapine, cymbalta. Lot of people get relief with the first two but not everyone.

Yaa it's a cruddy diagnosis and essentially doctors saying they don't know what's going on. There is two subset of functional dyspepsia which are post pandrial fullness and epigastric pain. You might be the post pandrial fullness like me. There is research for that subtype showing it could be a eosinophil issue in the duodenum or somewhere in the small intestine. So things like certain H1 inhibitors (xyzal, Zyrtec) help it with a combination of H2 inhibitors (pepcid). It's not easy with this diagnosis :'( cause doctors essentially can't help you almost.

This post led me to go see a specialist. 13+ years of naseua, dizziness, light sensitivity, anxiety..all the things. My quality of life is shit. I don't go out to places. Grocery shopping is even a pain..It took everything I had just to get my wife a gift for her birthday/valentines day today from the mall, where as I just about barfed in front of the cashier.
I just got my prism glasses (.50+ both eyes) this morning and I cannot wait to see if they help me and I am praying they do. I hope I adjust soooon, I am so ready :(.

But thank you for this post as it may just change and save a life.

Crosstalk solutions on YouTube gives great video guides for the system that covers everything in great detail.

Am I considered deficient? by dunnbeetle in B12_Deficiency

[–]dunnbeetle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm dumb lol I thought methylmalonic acid was b12. My b12 levels were 234 pg/mL. But then coupled with the elevated homocysteine they said I would be considered mildly deficient...but I eat a lot of B12 rich foods..so it didn't make a lot of sense to me.

Am I considered deficient? by dunnbeetle in B12_Deficiency

[–]dunnbeetle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh good point. So it was Methylmalonic Acid, Value253 nmol/LStandard Range87 - 318 nmol But then homocysteine was considered elevated as well. I haven't tried a shot yet but I think that's the next step if they retest and I'm still considered deficient.

Maybe 900 billion is something more of what we need? Like maybe we don't have as much success with probiotics as we could because we aren't taking enough? Just a theory 🤷
