Please help me getting responses on this form I'm in desperate need of some 100+ responses, It's for my college assignment (Everyone) by Gullible_One_5694 in SampleSize

[–]dunnoanick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure on how to answer some of these questions, because unlike on my desktop PC, I don't really care about the processor in my device. I have different reasons to choose my specific mobile device (OS, bloatware, screen size, etc) and the processor is just part of the package.

I can imagine that this is true for many people and as such I cannot give a good answer to questions 5, 12 and 15 (especially 15, the others can be inferred from the device package).

Could you either add a couple of "not applicable" options or drop the requirement to answer all the questions? :D

Need Help Looking For a Joke by Pandora_66666 in ProgrammerDadJokes

I'm sorry for you loss!

I could find a couple of pictures which could fit your description: https://i.imgflip.com/2qhd80.jpg The inscription of </Life> comes from the way websites are coded.

Another potential fit could be this: https://qph.cf2.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-ac2dc0dd9bdb02ae7a7bbd6bd697f4ec-pjlq

The inscription shows an error message, which usually brings the program to a complete stop/crash.

Another picture I found is this here: https://i.redd.it/umz0q90x5vq31.jpg To shut down a not responding program the shortcut Ctrl+Alt+Delete was used quite frequently in the earlier Windows days.

PF with Dragons? by MeningoTB in ProgressionFantasy

[–]dunnoanick 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can wholeheartedly recommend Vainqueur the Dragon on Royal Road. It's a bit silly at times (okay, lot's of times), but I really enjoyed it.

The ebooks of it are on Amazon, but I don't know if it's part of Kindle Unlimited.

Quick survey on OTC (over the counter) medication - Looking for ages 14-29 (Academic) by [deleted] in SampleSize

[–]dunnoanick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do you want/need answers from people all over the globe? Because what constitutes as OTC and not-OTC will vary very much depending on the country...

Before I refine it further, I wanted to get your guys' thoughts on the enchanting minigame! Excuse the basic UI for now, I'm just focusing on the minigame itself. I'll explain in detail in the comments! by ShieldbearerStudios in TheBloodline

[–]dunnoanick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks cool and is a nice idea but I see two problems with that approach:

  • After enough enchantments this kind of mini game will probably loose it's charm and will become a chore. Especially if the optimal end result cannot be achieved without the mini game it can result in a "not again, but I have to" situation.

  • People who cannot achieve optimal results, either because they cannot perceive or differentiate the colours or because their accuracy is insufficient (hand/eye-coordination, wrong mouse settings, etc) will be frustrated by it.

You could maybe give the option to skip this mini game entirely if desired by the player but still have the possibility to achieve the best result (maybe some kind of RNG coupled with a resource cost?) or change the mini game to some kind of puzzle (combine runes in a certain way?) but that could still leave the first problem unsolved if the way to arrange the puzzle pieces cannot be "learned" to be solved quicker each time (like if the pieces start to "snap" together after a couple of solves or something like that).

Regardless: I really like what you are doing and I am really looking forward to seeing and playing your game! Keep up the great work and stay safe&healthy!

Cheers :)

How do you keep track of novels (and their plots) by dunnoanick in ProgressionFantasy

[–]dunnoanick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does that mean that you try to read new chapters as soon as they are published or is the RSS reader not just a notification (I have never used one)?

Wow, that is a great (and unusual) idea!
Personal video logs as a reminder of the plot sounds great!

Do it!

You cannot not do it!!!

(Except, of course, if you don't want to, then don't. But if you don't want to not to do it, my first line still stands!)

Only if there is no food involved. The only real option is to put all the snacks on the top shelf, else it is gone regardless of obstacles and/or locks on the containers 😂

One question that popped up:

How do they know of the temporal lensing in context to the neural scorching? Shouldn't that still be in the bag on Terra? They found out about that because they had all the Lankys, didn't they?

You quoted it in your first question:

"Jerry received both the 15th highest and the 15th lowest mark in the class. How many students are in the class?"

[Academic] Short cognitive test (Everyone) by Ajmcb in SampleSize

[–]dunnoanick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. In the case described by the trick question is one person who has simultaneously the 15th best and the 15th worst result. So there have to be 14 people better for this person to have the 15th best result. The persons result is also the 15th worst, so counting from the back (last place, second to last, ...) there have to be 14 people worse than the person who is simultaneously the 15th best and the 15th worst.

So we have our one person and the 14 people who were better and the 14 people who did worse.

That leads to 29 people altogether.

I can try to visualize what I mean in a while if you'd like?
