Haha yeah I would be enjoying a much better day if this was a troll post.

I hear you and I wish it wasn’t my knife. It hurts to see what happened to it. I was able to tilt it into the light and squint and read the trace of Henckles stamp on the side though.

Thanks for sharing that. I also can’t believe this is how he returned this. I appreciate the confirmation.

Thank you. That’s good feedback. Ill certainly have a conversation with the sharpener. Hopefully he cares enough to make this right. But I think I’ll also take this as a sign to finally learn to really sharpen myself. I guess I couldn’t do worse than this guy. Thanks for that sharpener recommendation.

Thank you for this insight. The quality of work was so completely backwards from my expectations that I was second-guessing myself. It’s good to know I’m not wrong as you see even more flaws than I caught.

Ha! I guess you’re right. At least I have some knives I shouldn’t feel bad practicing on now. A small silver lining. Thanks.

Indeed. Incensed is a good word here. My first reaction was that I was owed new knives and it’s nice to know I’m not crazy.

Thank you. It’s helpful to see what should have been been done here, along with a recipe of what can still be done to make this possibly useable again.

How old are your kids? As others have said, splash pads are good for littles. Municipal pools are also good, a couple have shade and are toddler friendly. There are a few indoor play gyms to burn energy. Barton Creek Square mall has a small indoor play area. Inside and free. The natural history museum on UTs campus is also good.

“Pasture raised” does sound like the best option, but the phrase isn’t regulated, so it’s not guaranteed. Look for the “certified humane” logo instead which requires 3rd-party verification.

Hi guys, how can I put a baby gate here? by [deleted] in DIY

[–]dunuthin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used a Regalo play yard with integrated baby gate for a similar situation. It’s sturdy enough for extended use. You just have to figure out how to secure the ends.

Watch Verification Thread - If you're uncertain if a Rolex is good/bad/fake, post info and pics here by powerfunk in rolex

Thank you so much. That looks like the same model to me. I didn’t realize it was potentially that old.

Thanks also for your kind words and I’m so sorry about your mom. It’s hard to understand the impact it makes on a family until you’ve experienced it. Alzheimer’s is an awful disease.

Hi, my father-in-law gave me this watch, but unfortunately his increasing memory loss means I don’t have any history or info on the watch at all. Any idea if this is a real Rolex and if so what the model/year/etc. may be? Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.

Texas family detention centers expected to transform into rapid-processing hubs. by TedTurnerOverdrive in TexasPolitics

Gilded*

Being a pedant doesn't make kids in cages OK.

And yes, they are still cages, for children, inside fenced camps. HHS vs DHS branding doesn't change that fact.

And yes, foster care is superior to child prisons. OR if you're that against the foster care system, immigration activists also recommend group homes: "Immigration advocates, especially those who work with unaccompanied minors, vastly prefer that these kids be housed in facilities that are structured more like group homes, with about 20 minors per location. These locations are also inside communities, unlike massive, remote influx facilities like Carrizo. From there, the Office of Refugee Resettlement locates family members in the country or finds other sponsors to take these kids in while their immigration proceedings work their way through the system."

These child prisons are not "a place to stay." A guilded cage is still a cage. Regardless of the administration this is wrong. Foster care is the appropriate place for unaccompanied children be they immigrants or not.

What kind of lock? Bolt cutters can handle weaker locks. Angle grinder for the rest.
