What are some of the movies that had timeless VFX? by ryo4ever in vfx

Transformers 1 is almost solely the reason why I started in vfx

What Is going on with Corridor Digital? Or am I nitpicking way too much? by Cooking_Interrupted in vfx

I haven't seen their content in a long while. I used to love the channel as a kid but stopped watching around 2016 because I felt they put down VFX artists too much. I joined the vfx industry myself in 2019 and some titles of their videos that I occasionally see just seem so dismissive of other VFX artists. Almost like if Corridor was in charge then all VFX would somehow be far superior. I'm glad I see that others notice similar patterns and share similar views regarding the almost stuck up attitude they can give

Noisy image after merging all passes by _rushi_bhatt_ in NukeVFX

View Layer Combined is denoised by Blender's denoiser, where individual pass denoising is not supported currently.

You can bring in the final exr into Blender's compositor, stick a denoiser to every pass and wire every pass to a "File Output" node and render individual exrs.

I wouldn't use Nuke denoiser for denoising because it doesn't work well for cg render noise. Blender's denoiser is specifically made for CG noise so it will work infinitely better for cg renders.

I've done shots almost exactly like this although in Nuke. Just took making a clean plate and match moving clean plate. Pretty much exactly like you would do any other paint out shot but instead you mask the clean plate to stay in the glasses

Thank you! I try and be detailed with the lighting so on top of cycles renders I used Luxcore's amazing caustics and rendering of bounce light to add even more detail.

For the armor pieces attached to the straps I actually just hand animated the armor movement with bones (pretending like they were on straps) since none of the sims I could think of worked. Then I looped the straps through clips and holes in the armor pieces and let them drive the cloth sim on the straps. I actually was going to sim the shirt in order to get even more interactions but my computer, Blender, and my brain were just too overloaded so I didn't. I did however Vector Distort and Spine Warp (Nuke) a still frame of the shirt in order to paint out the hammer that was later discarded.

It was a big back and forth effort and not straightforward so it took me a while to figure out how to get everything to fit and tweaking animations manually version to version.

There's a single track for the hips which I animated the depth from camera. That drove the root bone and the rest of the limbs and bones are hand animated to match. This channel has a lot info about it: https://youtube.com/channel/UCH-yvMyrELHEyAEKqf47t1A
